Incidents in My Life,

This review is from: Incidents in My Life: With an Introduction by Judge Edmonds (Paperback)
In researching into Daniel Dunglas Home I read many comments that left me with many questions about this man. I was happy to get this book that was first published in 1864, and was intrigued in how it would be written for its day. I was not disappointed. It has been said that another wrote the book for Mr. Home. It does not matter, as what is stated was his ideas and approach to mediumship. I researched Mr. Home because he was documented as able to levitate and was witnessed doing so by many skeptics. His life of mysterious happenings is slowly documented in this book, and it gets a little dry reading one written oath after another to help reference Mr. Home in what he did. But then the reading picks up and I really got some flavor of what it would of been like to live in his time and travels and found his accounts became more interesting as his life progressed. I would recommend this book for anyone's library that is interested in early occult, mediumship, and levitation. I had also previously read that no one studied Mr. Home scientifically, and all his "parlor tricks". But in reading the book one would see that it was not the case at all. There were many believers and many non believers just as currently exist today. And if you read the book you will find the answer to why spirits manifest around and through Mr. Home and what was to be accomplished by his journeys in mediumship and spirituality. Oh yes, Mr. Homes gave seances where musical instruments were played, bells were rang, tables and pianos were leviatated, and hands of spirits would appear and touch those in the audience, letters written in a deceased's hand were written before the audiance, etc. There is great detailed descriptions of this. Read it!
