This is a nifty little product...with a few minor irritations. If I could do halves, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. As it stands, I'll give it a qualified 4.

I bought this because I've always been in search of the perfect wallet...I hate carrying purses (I go for the kind that sling across my front so I don't know they're there), but I don't always wear jeans. Basically, I...

I was looking for a compact case, but this was a bit smaller than I expected. There is no room here for extra batteries if you like to carry spares, and a standard pen or mechanical pencil will be too long to fit in here either. That said, my case seems well made, with solid stitching and a heavy duty zipper.

4.0 out of 5 stars the devil's in the details..., October 17, 2000
This is a nifty little product...with a few minor irritations. If I could do halves, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. As it stands, I'll give it a qualified 4.

I bought this because I've always been in search of the perfect wallet...I hate carrying purses (I go for the kind that sling across my front so I don't know they're there), but I don't always wear jeans. Basically, I wanted something that would hold my Visor, cash, id, debit card, and all of the assorted plastic flotsam and paper jetsam that I seem to accumulate while going about my everyday business.

I obsessively researched every carrying case I could find on Yahoo Shopping, the Handspring site, and Amazon, and settled on this bad boy. It looked perfect -- funky, fuzzy, and secure...and it is.

I love the strap, it holds plenty of cash and scraps of paper. I was able to transfer all 12 of my various plastic cards into the pockets, and there's a sewn-in sleeve that you slip the plastic Visor cover through so that you can socket the thing in either face up or face down.

"Sounds great," you say "so what's the problem?" Well, it all has to do with the zipper. See, the zipper goes all the way around the case -- too far around, as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes it gets a bit buried in the spine of the case, and I have to spend a few seconds digging it out. This isn't a big problem, but it can get annoying when I'm trying to get my credit card out to pay for groceries and there are 6 people behind me in line.

The other zipper problem is that it's a bit too snug -- the designers really should have added about a half an inch to the length and width of the case to prevent the zipper's getting stuck while it goes around the corners. As it is, I sometimes have to shift the Visor up or down a bit before the zipper will clear (it feels kind of like moving back and forth to settle into a parallel parking spot).

These problems are annoying enough that I'm considering returning the case, even though I really like it, but I won't do it until I've found something else that holds everything and fits in my pocket (there's a bit of a bulge, but my roomie says that it's nothing too noticeable -- of course, I tend to wear my jeans loose).

If you're looking for something that will hold lots of cards, has a secure zipper and carrying strap, and is funky in a not-made-of-animals/"I'm-not-*really*-a-grown-up-even-if-I-sometimes-act-like-one" kind of way, this might be for you. It all depends on how much the zipper thing bugs you.

Anyway, hope this helps. Like I said, it's a nifty little case, but the devil's in the details...

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was looking for a compact case, but this was a bit smaller than I expected. There is no room here for extra batteries if you like to carry spares, and a standard pen or mechanical pencil will be too long to fit in here either. That said, my case seems well made, with solid stitching and a heavy duty zipper.

The retention system is not clearly explained in the description, so here goes... it's a sleeve of fabric inside the cover that you slide the Visor cover through, so the top and bottom are exposed. Then the Visor snaps into its own cover, either face up or face down. With it face up, for use, it is a tighter fit, but it feels sufficiently secure.

By the way, the zebra print is on a fuzzy fabric that feels like you would expect a fake zebra to feel. Adds a nice touch of kitsch to the case.

1.0 out of 5 stars Turns Visor on.., December 5, 2000

This review is from: Incipio Handspring Visor Case (Black Nylon) (Office Product)
I got this case, and although the features were wonderful, the drawback was that it would keep turning my Visor on. I tried many different programs to keep my Visor off - but it zips up so tight, it even put pressure on the power button.

I went through so many batteries I finally went back to my old case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome hawaiian print, and small enough to fit in my pocket, November 27, 2000
By
Alexis Lind (Waltham, MA United States) - See all my reviews
When I first ordered the product I thought it was going to be big and bulky, but it fits my handspring perfectly and fits in my pocket as well. I love the hawaiian print, and wish there were some cases with the same kind of print. Everyone comments on it when I take it out. I would recommend it to anyone who is in need of a cool case, and wants to get away from that "Corporate Monkey" look.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice case, great value, November 22, 2000
By A Customer
I was looking for a Visor case that could replace my purse as well. I chose this case, and have been very happy with it. My only complaint is that the Visor is held on with velcro, and because of where the velcro sits inside the case, the stick-on part that goes on your Visor must be taped halfway over the springboard slot. So far, I haven't used any springboard modules in the 1yr+ that I've owned it, so this is no big deal yet. You would not be able to zip the case shut with any springboard modules that stick out of the top--it's already a tight fit.

There's plenty of room for license, credit cards, etc, and a deep bill pocket. The clear pocket where my id was ripped several months after getting the case, and Incipio replaced it without a question. It's an excellent case for the price, and the animal prints just make it look cool.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice especially for the price, March 22, 2001
I looked long and hard before purchasing this case. I wanted something small that would protect my Visor Deluxe. Most cases (the Handspring ones) left the sides somewhat unprotected in a fall and from dust. I also did not want to stick velcro on my new electronic device. This case fit the bill. It has a nice snug fit and I have not had a problem with the device turning on by itself. I can still fit this in my purse or jacket pocket. It zips (so protection for all sides and from dust). No velcro (a previous reviewer obviously did not understand how to use the cover that comes with your Visor to secure it in the pouch - very easy and secure). A nice carry strap. And one of the least expensive cases I have seen. It would be nice to have more choices of color/texture. The prints are a bit wild for me which is why I went with this model. If you are having a hard time finding a case that you like for your Visor, give this one a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great protection, cute and cheap!, July 20, 2001
1. Protection: This case protects the visor from all sides because it zips up; There is little point in getting a carrying case that does not protect your visor in this way, especially if you carry your visor in a purse/bag where it knocks against stuff. 2. Size: This case is of the smallest I've ever seen for visors. It is only just big enough to fit the visor, and has a couple of pockets so you can use it as a wallet if you wish. Nothing else. I needed a protective case that did not add to the size and weight of the PDA. 3. Attachment: You use the protective cover of your visor to secure it into the case, and you can store it face-up or face-down (more secure during storage/travel). Besides the fact that I didn't want velcro on my visor I like the fact that I don't have to give up protecting the screen during travel because most cases are not hard enough to prevent the visor from turning on accidentally. 4. Price: The best. Similar cases range from $25-40 at least. ... 5. Look: I love the leopard print, but INCIPIO offers other, less abnoxious, patterns as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but not perfect, March 3, 2001
By
"bemyneighbor" (Stanton, CA United States) - See all my reviews
The Incipio Ballistic Nylon Visor Case is a great product, but it is not perfect. You can bang it around on a hard surface, and not hurt the Visor. I used to use a leather carrying case, but I droped it once and had to have the Visor replaced. The Visor has survived like drops in this case and has come through unscathed. I use it as my wallet now because I can carry around everything that I need in it. The money pocket is large enough to hold much more than your bills. I use it to carry around checks and other small documents without having them come out all wrinkled and crinkled, as with my regular wallet.

I do not understand the first reviewer's complaint about the product. I use my Visor just fine without removing it from the case. The protective cover that comes with the Visor is used to secure it in the case without having to use a sticky velcro and marr the back of the Visor, as with most generic PDA cases out there.

Two complaints. First, there is not enough room for that many credit cards. Putting more than four cards in the pockets cause it to bulge too much when closed. But my major concern is that the seam on the edge of the clear ID pocket presses on the Datebook button and turns on the Visor sometimes. Other than these, it is a great product that I would recomend to all Visor sers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cute but shoddy., January 3, 2001
By A Customer
The best thing about this case is the cute fabric. But there's no way around it: the thing is poorly made. The inside looks like a 99-cent wallet, with its stiff plastic card window and cheap-o wallet slots. The velcro tabs are badly placed: for a secure fit, you'd have to cover part of the springboard cover on the Visor. And of course there's the zipper, which is as crummy as the rest and barely fits around a Visor. I'm returning it today.
