Editorial Reviews

2013 release, the third album from the Chicago-based Deathcore band. Incisions is the follow-up to the band's 2010 album Contagion. Rumors surfaced that the band had split after the release of that album, but they only took a short hiatus before starting work on Incisions.

In my opinion this is Oceano's best album to date. They have really evolved and progressed the last few years. Their sound is just so amazing now. It's not repetitive as their previous albums. This album was worth the three year wait. I'm really glad they came back. They stand their ground in deathcore with Incisions. This is one of my favorite deathcore albums of the last few years. I do think Oceano stands out from other deathcore bands. I really hope they continue after this album. This album is pure greatness. I can understand what Adam is saying compared to the depths days. The artwork is sick as well. My favorite songs on the album are:
1. Blasphemous Mask
2. Slow Murder
3. The Reclamation
4. Internal War ( Reminds me of Whitechapel early days )
5. Severed Appendages

This band is extremely heavy. However this album is so terrible I don't know what to say. The recording is unbareable. They slacked so bad on this album. The first two albums were so solid and heavy. There recent album "Accendents" has righted the wrongs made on this album. Go pick up those 3 albums, that show the band's greatness. Skip this album it is sadly terrible.

this disc is breath taking and brutal. Praise the baby REsus that this was made, lots of high and low screams which blend perfect over skin curling drums, drops, and bass while the guitars are keeping a head banging pace and raping your ear balls. GREAT WORK guys buy this is you enjoy metal and fire.

This album proves that Oceano has found their own sound. This album is heavy, no doubt. While the material isn't groundbreaking, you can definitely tell that the members have grown musically. The overall album has a dark theme to it, reminds me of being inside the mind of a demented killer. Adam Warren is part of a small group of vocalists that have a very distinct, recognizable sound. Deep powerful growls and his unique, dirty, high-pitched shrieks really help set this band apart from others. I was surprised to even hear clean vocals, but they are done "tastefully". The drumming has gotten tighter and more technical then their previous releases. As a fellow drummer his work has really pushed me to become better myself. Overall this album and "Depths" are my favorites from these guys. This album is definitely one of my favorites of 2013.
