This final translation of the Inclusive Bible series by the Quixote Center's scriptural scholars is the best of the lot. Much has changed in the 17 years since the project began translating the bible, starting with accepted Christian midrash for the Inclusive New Testament. This fourth and final volume relies on Greek and Aramaic texts and places the canon in historic and cultural perspective. Not strictly nonsexist, as the bible inescapably reflects the misogyny of the cultures, this new translation makes it possible for believers and skeptics to encounter these scriptures as beautiful, vivid and still-alive literature. The prophets understood God as beyond definition--with elements of the male and the female. Their dreams and predictions speak to us today in our own culture and time.

I have purchased all the volumes of "The Inclusive Hebrew Scriptures" and find them very refreshing and helpful, as I read them alongside other translations, or just for devotional purposes. I really appreciate this effort, and recommend them to anyone interested in refreshing new ways to read the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. There is a New Testament volume as well.
