Simply AWESOME!, January 26, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: An Inconvenient Christmas (Audio CD)
This has to be the best Christmas album I have ever heard. "An Inconvenient Christmas" is your typical Oaks instant classic and I don't think I have EVER heard a better version of "The Hallelujah Chorus." The Oaks just keep recording great music and only get better with time....just like fine wine!

Outstanding New Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Release, November 27, 2002
This review is from: An Inconvenient Christmas (Audio CD)
This is the fourth Christmas project released by the Oaks and it is by far their very best. The Oaks brings to us several new Christmas songs which are destined to become standards in the future. A great mix of old Christmas standards intertwined with new cuts such as: "My Son", "Merry Christmas Baby" & "Beneath The Christmas Tree" just to name a few. The Oaks power harmony is showcased in this project as well as outstanding leads by all four members. Folks, this one is a keeper, one that can be played throughout the year, one that will inspire you, calm you, make you laugh, make you cry and one that will take you on a musical journey that you will not want to return from easily. Buy it, you will not be disappointed.

The Best Yet!, October 20, 2002
This review is from: An Inconvenient Christmas (Audio CD)
The only shame with this CD is that it's Christmas, which means that it will be pigeon holed until the holidays, but that doesn't change the fact that this is the BEST CD the Oaks have done to date. Michael Sykes' production is out of this world, and the Oaks have never sounded better. DEFINITELY a keeper!

A fabulous Christmas CD that will become a warm tradition!, November 7, 2002
This review is from: An Inconvenient Christmas (Audio CD)
This CD by The Oak Ridge Boys is one of those rich gems that becomes an instant classic. It is filled with power and emotion. "My Son" is a rare beauty; a song that is filled with faith, love and hope. It shows a personal viewpoint into the Saviors Birth. "Beneath the Christmas Tree" is a glimpse into our rushed world, and what it feels like to reach out and care for others during this harried season. I hope we can all experience such a gift this year. "The Hallelujah Chorus" is a quick paced rendition of a holiday song that isn't usually found on contemporary CD's. I enjoyed it. I highly recommend this album. The Oaks really shine on this work, their perfect harmony is incomparable. This Christmas treat is one that you will love now and in the years to come.

Christmas harmony, December 2, 2005
This review is from: An Inconvenient Christmas (Audio CD)
It just makes perfect sense for the Oaks to release Christmas albums. After all, the group has its roots in Gospel music, which is music as much about Christianity as a Christmas album is supposed to be. So, while Santa gets the ocassional mention the emphasis definitely lies on religious material. Because of this, the material quite often seems miles away from Country music.Country harmonies aside, this feels primarily like a Gospel album.
"My son" felt weird at first as it's sung from Mary's point of view but it soon became my favorite as it's so wonderfully sung. Plus, the lyrics tell you so much about Jesus the song really ought to be played beyond the season. This is also true for the album's other highlight "The hallelujah chorus" which simply blew me away first time I heard it. The Oaks never sounded so powerful and, well, religious as on this song. Spine-tingling stuff. The title track and "Beautiful star of Bethlehem" also deserve a special mention.
Overall, if Christmas truly is all about celebrating your Christianity, then this is the album for you.

Great Music!!!, February 4, 2010
This review is from: An Inconvenient Christmas (Audio CD)
I had the great pleasure and privilege of being in Branson, Missouri for the recording of this wonderful Christmas CD. It was a simply awesome and fantastic experience...so much fun!!! I never tired of hearing them try over and over to get some of the songs just right for the recording. And, being live, of course there were lots of extras, kids, scenery, acting, etc. The Oak Ridge Boys are just fabulous in this recording. I love The title song, "An Inconvenient Christmas", probably partly because of the humor that was ongoing during the recording. All in all this was an experience I will never forget. I was devastated when my original CD was scratched, but am replacing it with another one. Enjoy listening to this great CD!! I highly recommend it!!

Well . . ., June 18, 2004
This review is from: An Inconvenient Christmas (Audio CD)
This is the expected mix of traditional and original songs, but the traditional ones were pretty standard "country Christmas" fare, and the originals were rather bland. Nice enough, but no stunners. And guys, this just isn't how the Hallelujah Chorus should be done. Nor even Beautiful Star of Bethlehem, for that matter!
