Book Description

Urban Christian July 27, 2010
Samaria Jacobs is a deceitful, yet captivating diva who will do anything to win the heart of her married lover. Will she get her man or destroy herself and everyone else in the process?

Samaria has her sights set on Gregory Preston. A successful surgeon, he has just the bankroll she needs to keep her in the lifestyle that her credit card debt has helped her grow accustomed to. He's married, but Samaria would never let a little thing like that get in her way.

Samaria joins New Mercies Christian Church to get close to Gregory's wife. If she gets to know Angelina Preston, she can become like her in more than just looks, and really work her way into Greg's heart.

Angelina's life is filled with a successful career and busy ministry work, but something's just not right with her marriage. Late nights, early meetings, lipstick- and perfume-stained shirts have her suspicious that Greg is doing a little more operating than she'd like. But does she have the strength to confront the only man she's ever loved and risk losing him to the other woman?

Just when Samaria thinks she's got it all figured out, she finds herself drawn to Angelina's kindness. Will she be able to carry out her plan after she finds herself yearning for the one thing she's never had. . .the friendship of a woman?

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking For Love, July 31, 2010
This review is from: An Inconvenient Friend (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
Even the best-laid plans can go awry. In Rhonda McKnight's An Inconvenient Friend, Samaria Jacobs planned on getting her happily ever after with Gregory Preston, no matter the cost. However, Gregory was not a single man. He had already pledged his life to his wife, Angelina. Samaria came up with a foolproof scheme, but who would be the fool in the end?

Samaria, as much as she fought it, was a dutiful daughter. Even with her tough exterior, saying no to her mother was not easy. Her mother was the one person she was able to say yes to all the while regretting it, but everyone else in Samaria's life better watch out. She is a sharp, sassy, beautiful, smart woman. But somewhere she is missing something. It was not until she entered Angelina Preston's life, that she realized exactly what it was.

I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. For a moment, I had a look into the mind and life of "the other woman." Even though I do not condone another person coming between a husband and wife, I understood the reason Samaria did what she was doing. I recommend An Inconvenient Friend to readers of Christian fiction or inspirational fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars With Friends like Samaria..., August 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: An Inconvenient Friend (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
Samaria Jacobs is a scheming backstabbing sista. She is only looking out for self and will do whatever necessary to make it happen. She never thought that Angelina would be her friend (her first and only friend) but her plan was already in motion. Samaria's past catches up to her - addict mother, loving ex-boyfriend and crime - but she finds Jesus in the process. Forgiveness is the center of this relationship drama. The action is fast and the ending will make you say with "friends like these you don't need enemies". Must read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Is This A Sequel???, August 6, 2010
This review is from: An Inconvenient Friend (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
I hope this isn't a sequel, because if so, there's something missing.
The story took an abrupt ending, and I was left wanting more!!! Don't get me wrong, it was a good story, characters were well developed, realistic, and storyline was unpredictable, transitions between characters were good(minor glitch), but I felt the ending left 'too' many unanswered questions.

Does Angelina and Greg's marriage survive? Will Katrice find a stable home? What about Samaria and Mekhi? Her mother?

I'm looking to purchase more from this author because I think she's a great writer, but I'm baffled!

*Edit to add---I got a 'little' confused toward the ending between Samaria and Angelina characters, I didn't know who was speaking.*

Overall rating: If book is a sequel-3.5 stars.
If book isn't a sequel- 4.5 stars.
