Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Get perfect miter cuts the first time without trial-and-error setups when you use the 2000/27T miter gauge by Incra. It features 41 angle stops with indexed stops every 5 degrees over the +90-degree range, and special stops at 22-1/2 and 67-1/2 degrees. The 2000/27 also includes the Incra Shop Stop positioner. This versatile stop positioner is incremental, expandable, reversible, horizontally and vertically adjustable, and micro-adjustable. Wow! If you have a work positioning need in your shop, this miter guage can handle it. Other features include a standard miter head, a GlideLOCK miter bar with width that is adjustable in 6 places, and an 18-inch track fence.

Product Description

Continuing it's well-respected tradition of "making accuracy easy", INCRA® has added the MITER1000® and MITER3000® Incremental Miter Gauges to compliment it's incredibly popular MITER2000®. All three models feature INCRA's® exclusive AngleLOCK® Indexed Positioning that locks in miter fence angles in devastatingly accurate and repeatable 5°, 1° or 1/2° increments over a range of up to 180°, with continuous adjustability in between. Each model uses INCRA's® patent pending solid steel GlideLOCK® Miter Bar, that uses up to eight expansion points to adjust both sides of the bar for zero side play with anti-friction travel in any standard (or near standard) miter slot. This means that all of that accuracy in the Anglelock® Miter Head can actually be put to use because the bar won't wiggle in the slot. The result? You get perfect, gap-free hairline glue joints on all mitered corners without trial-and-error setups. If that sounds too good to be true, just remember INCRA's® motto: EXACTLY AS PROMISED! And they mean it!

4.0 out of 5 stars disappointed with incra miter gauge, November 7, 2000

This review is from: Incra MITER2000/27 Table Saw Miter Gauge (Tools & Home Improvement)
The product itself is OK but with the following reservation: The nylon material used in the adjustable spacers that are supposed to keep the miter bar tight in the table saw's miter slot wears quickly. I've had mine for about a year and it no longer delivers a satisfactory degree of accuracy in making 90 degree cuts. I've since stopped using it. If Incra would modify the miter bar with set screws like those used in Delta's new deluxe miter bar, the product would be improved.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incra 2000/27 Miter Gauge, January 13, 2005
This review is from: Incra MITER2000/27 Table Saw Miter Gauge (Tools & Home Improvement)
Any Incra jig is a winner. The 2000 is no exception. For a few dollars more than the Incra 1000 you get positive stops every one (1) degree, rather than every 5 degrees as on the 1000. Additionally there is another indexed stop which then makes all the positive stops on the 1/2 degree. Marvelous instrument, especially when compared to the miter gauge that came with my Sears table saw 22 years ago.

Update 31 Mar 05: Now that I've been using the Incra 2000 for a few months, I find zero defects, zero detractors for this miter gauge. In fact, I finally can make 45 deg angles that are more accurate than the wood movement that occurs in any project. You cannot get any better than that!

4.0 out of 5 stars Poor set-up, good operation, October 20, 2003

The short version: set-up took about 3 hrs due to poor directions, sloppy detailing and bad drawings. Operation met expectations.

If you buy, prepare as follows:

1. Get about 10 machinist shims in increments of .001 or .002. These will be needed to adjust to square with your table. This beats measuring slips of paper with a micrometer and figuring out how many to slide into place. Mine took .005 to square. Their "Tip" between steps 1 and 2.

2. Do calibration step 1before step 2 in assembly to avoid double handling. Remove the allen screws and rub with some wax or dry lubricant. The screw heads build-up so much friction against the plastic expansion washers that you can almost break your 7/64 allen wrench.

3. When setting up for the right side --IGNORE their drawing and instructions. They show a through slot connecting the fence to the mounting bracket. It is not slotted which means that when you remove the fence; you can't get in back in with loose washers supplied. I ended up making a ball of wax paper to put behind their slotted washer to be able to reinstall the cap screws -- this will make sense when you see the unit.

Remember that you will have to do the same table squaring step for the right side as you did on the left.

It's incredible that they supply a part that's completely different than their drawing.

4. The Shop Stop is generally well designed part, but the manual provided is useless for initial set-up. The rack system is very accurate and the positioning works well after you set the rule to your machine.

In operation, the unit is excellent. Changing from 90 to 45 takes 5 seconds and is totally accurate.

Too bad they don't have someone in engineering actually assemble the unit from their drawings and instructions before sending out to customers.
