First, the best advice I can give you on whether you need any of the incra rulers. Go to YouTube and search for "incra rules." You want to watch the video "INCRA Rules - Complete Version." It is about 8 and 1/2 minutes long and covers each of there rulers. From this video you will get a sense as to which ruler(s) might be useful to you.

Finally, here is what I can offer that you will not find in the You Tube video I recommended.

The holes for marking are so small you will need a .5mm mechanical pencil. Or, you will need to use your utility knife to whittle down a fine point on a regular pencil. I have been using the later method, but finally bought a mechanical pencil. Someone said in a review that they come with a mechanical pencil. Mine did not.

One final note. The incra rulers are made of thin, pliable metal. As such I would not be storing them in my tool bucket! This is not at all a criticism, it is just stating a fact.

I also own the "6-Inch and 3-Inch Precision Marking T-Rules" and the "Incra BNDRUL12 12-Inch Incra Precision Bend Rule" and find them just as useful as this product. They too are covered in the video I refer to above.

I am a huge fan of incra products.

Incra Marking rule was very easy to use and saves marking time a lot compared to use regular rule to mark on the wood.
Quality of the product also looks fine but I could see some kind of stain like thing on the surface of the rule.
It seems to came from some kind of etching process while engraving the numbers and lines on the rule and it doesn't affect the usability of the product at all.
However, it would be nice if the incra controls the quality of their products more accurately.
Overeall, very satisfied.

I think grooves in a ruler is a great idea - very accurate. The metal is thinner than I expected, I'm afraid to bend it.

Someone had a great idea when they came up with this product. I have used it several times and continue to find new uses.

Great product for straight and acurate lines for wood working. Just make sure you use a .5 mm lead pencil to get into the the small markings

Item is of good quality and perfect for accurately measuring. I used this to create a jig(master) to set my saw for repetitive cuts.

I had to go buy a special pencil(o.5mm lead, not expensive, I just didn't have one)for it. It really makes it easy to get a precision mark and eliminates alot of recuting and sanding.

works as advertised, I have worked on several projects now with better accuracy and results. I bought several of the Incra measuring tools.

This was a great experience and a good deal too! It arrived well packed and on time. I could not have had a better time shopping at a local store! The rule is an Incra, so there is nothing else to say about that!

This was a gift for my husband. He hasn't used it yet but was happy to receive it and I was happy with how quick we received it.
