5.0 out of 5 stars Save Hundreds By Reading This Book July 8, 2005
I paid more than $800 to attend a Kaplan course to prepare for the ACT and SAT and I came out of it feeling like I had wasted my money. For any sane student who has more to do than flip through thousands of pages of nonsense this is the book for you. At first I felt that preparing for the ACT would be more difficult, but if you follow what the authors tell you, you will see almost immediate progress. For a money conscious person like me, I especially enjoy the multiple applications of this book, which means that it won't be sitting on the shelf after I get into college. I will definately use this book to help me in my writing in the future. A reasonable study program that won't bore you to death, What more can anyone ask?

1.0 out of 5 stars definitely fishy reviews May 1, 2009
After reading the fishy reviews post, I checked it out myself and that review was valid - the positive reviews were all from people who did not review any other author's work. Furthermore, most of them were posted on the same day or the next day - definitely suspicious - probably posted by authors friends.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fishy reviews November 4, 2007
I noticed all of these 5 star rave reviewers have ONLY reviewed this author's books. It seems as if he got his friends to do these reviews...be skeptical.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Buy! August 1, 2005
This prep book not only prepared me for the ACT but kept me entertained and involved while studying. The annotated essays that other students wrote really helped me focus in on my own writing and realize what I needed to change. Thanks to this book I scored high on the ACT and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to do well on the test.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart learning September 20, 2009
This prep book actually has cartoons that are funny. And the authors are pretty amusing considering the subject matter. But the good news is that the content has the potential to help you score higher on the writing section. The tips made me think about different ways to approach the writing prompts. As they say, you have to be unafraid to "Take the Shot." No mooncalfing. No lollydolling. Save that for your sweetheart. Buy this book now.
