5.0 out of 5 stars Read the entire series. January 4, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you've read the entire series, this is a 5-star, easy. I waited months to find out what happened after Cho takes over and Hercules supposed death, and I was not disappointed in the least. However, if you haven't read the earlier volumes you will have no idea as to what is going on at all. Be sure to buy all the tpb, b/c trust me, its the best thing to come from comics in ages. There truly is nothing like the ultimate odd couple of Hercules and Amadeus Cho. An old-school brute, meets new-age genius. Comedy, action, its got it all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pak and Van Lente continue to deliver. December 21, 2010
Format:Paperback
Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente's "Incredible Hercules" was one of the most original and entertaining properties produced by Marvel Comics from 2008 to 2010; upon the conclusion of the series itself, three sequel miniseries were launched to complete the series' ongoing plotlines. The two-issue "Hercules: Fall of an Avenger" and four-issue "Heroic Age: Prince of Power", collected as "Incredible Hercules: Prince of Power", are the first two of these. While not quite as good as the series' seminal arcs, the result is a fun and important adventure. Spoilers follow.

The events of "Assault on New Olympus" ended with Hercules seemingly being slain in an explosion, prompted by his ally Athena, who believes Amadeus Cho is destined to be the new Prince of Power and save the universe. Cho is suspicious of Athena, but first, the heroes of the Marvel Universe gather for a two-issue tribute to the deceased Avenger. These two issues are a roll-call of Hercules' past acquaintances, both those who have appeared in the series and those who have not - there are some incredibly funny sequences here, including a tribute from his lady-loves that must be seen to be believed (as well as an acknowledgement of Hercules' bisexuality, something most modern authors ignore). The only real downside is that these two issues are done by Ariel Olivetti, who is, for my money, the least impressive artist to ever work on the series - his art is a weird mix of cartoonishness and photorealism that lacks the strengths of either, and is not at all dynamic.

Anyway, we then move to the main story that gives the collection its name: Amadeus Cho, new Prince of Power, is intent on locating Hercules.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Fun March 25, 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This title, "Incredible Hercules", continues to be fun in these issues even though Hercules is absent for most of them. This is definitely recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice finale to a fun series October 26, 2011
Format:Paperback

"Incredible Hercules: The New Prince of Power"
(Marvel Comics)
----------------------------------------------------------------
This was a nice coda to the charming, good-natured Incredible Hercules series, with Herc's sidekick Amadeus Cho filling in as the earthly champion of the Olympian gods. Nice crossover with Thor; pretty-looking Alex Ross-ish artwork in the opening chapters (the funeral of Hercules, attended by various Marvel Universe heavies) and a hefty dose of the humor that made this title so enjoyable... And plenty of goofball sound effects, too! If you enjoyed the earlier volumes of this series, you'll like this too: they really went out with a bang! (Axton)

5.0 out of 5 stars Continuing the Great Hercules epic August 26, 2011
By Strong
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you've been enjoying the last few years of Hercules comics, which have been really good, and really well written, then this book is a must read. See the next chapter in the Hercules epic. Now, I can't wait for the next.
