A Reasonably Complete Look At The Animated Hulk,
This review is from: The Incredible Hulk: Animated Series (DVD)
This disc showcases the first four episodes of what I believe was a 13-episode single season (which wasn't followed up). The art is passable, above the level of GI Joe and Transformers, and closer to the animation in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters or (if you remember this) Dino Riders series. The episodes are self-containing and don't really branch out and connect to other episodes (other than the two-part "Beast" story). There are other supporting characters other than the Hulk shown in this series, which makes it an interesting mix.The extras are definitely worth your while. The 1966 clip is hilarious, especially in comparison to the recent movie and this DVD. Pay attention to the inappropriately paced and melodied opening theme song and the art, basically stills with large "Pow!" and "Bam!" type sound effects layed over, or shifting eyes. The trivia and the Stan Lee Soapbox should keep you entertained for a good 15 to 25 minutes, which also goes for the interview with writer Peter David. At the end of your viewing session, you'll have a more complete understanding of what the Hulk is about and how things about the Hulk have evolved, kind of like a mini-documentary. Recommended for Hulk fans, 80s thru 90s cartoon afficionados, but not so much for anime fans or those who were disappointed by the live movie and have only a little Hulk knowledge.

It seems that this is the Complete Series of the Inc. Hulk and Marvel just was fine with it being incomplete. OR there was to this DVD...whichever the case...I was slightly disappointed with the PRICE, (User should have provided more substantial input on the product about the series not being completed or the product missing items..(either way I felt as if I didn't get my Money's worth with this one
However.... The product was in good shape and delivery date was accurate....i give this one 3.75/5 I would purchase from this user again as well as recommend them to others, although the PRICING could've been more economical considering.

Incredible Hulk animated series(1996),

The episodes from this animated series are good but I was hoping for more episodes from the series. The bonus episodes from the 1960s are awesome. I would buy the complete 1990s series if they released it on DVD. The series is worth having as part of your collection.
If the 1980s series is released to DVD, I would purchase that version as well. You can only see some episodes on the internet. Both animated series are worth having. :)

I have two boys 2 1/2 and 4 who love the Hulk. They have been enjoying this DVD both at home as well as in the car. I am very satisfied with this purchase - it is in great quality for a used product.

First Four Episodes of the 1996-97 Series,
This review is from: The Incredible Hulk: Animated Series (DVD)
This is a collection of the first four episodes of the 13-episode Incredible Hulk series from 1996-97. That said, you should be able to imagine the art and voice levels for this DVD. Funny enough, Lou Ferrigno of the 1970's series provides the Hulk's voice. The art is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/ Ghostbusters/ Spider-Man/ Captain Planet-level. It's decent, but the Hulk looks more like an aging Frankenstein (his face comes off as pouty instead of mad most times). The series opens with the two-part "Return of the Beast," followed by "Raw Power" and "Helping Hand Iron Fist." Hulk faces Abomination, The Leader and Gargoyle in the earlier episodes, and the more familiar War Machine and Iron Man in the last of the four. A decent series that was cut off and never had true closure.

83 minutes is not enough value for the price,

83 minutes in four episodes of the Incredible Hulk's animated series is just not enough value for your dollar. Buy this only if your child absolutely loves the Hulk and is too young to watch the PG-13 rated live action film, The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward Norton. Check my review of that DVD (good movie but absolutely not for little kids).
I game a similar review to the first animated DVD from The Spectacular Spider-Man, the new series from the WB. You should get more for your money than 3-4 episodes. In the case of Spider-Man, it looks promising that the entire first series will be released. So far, the Hulk hasn't had the same luck. Also, please avoid the new Avengers animated DVDs. I made the mistake of picking these up without checking the ratings -- they feature the Hulk, but the stories and the language are not for young children. If you're looking for better choices for your little superhero fan, check out my Amazon listmania list, "Batman / Dark Knight entertainment for little boys" and have fun!

A season set please,

Well, I don't know why this isn't thought more of. While not up to Batman: TAS standards (what is?), the writing is pretty good & the animation is great, not the awful CGI garbage the 90's F4 & modern Transformers cartoons suffer from. The storylines could be a little better as the whole Hulk vs Gen. Ross while he searches for a cure gets boring fast. Plus, it's always a disgrace when cartoons aren't released in season sets.
