4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Fun for Fans of Total Destruction!!!
Very similar layout to the "Iron Man" game (by same creators, I guess). Good graphics. Better controls than "Iron Man". Way more stuff to grab and/or smash. Not a lot of difficulty except in the camera control mode. That's something of a pain to just stop what you're doing to hold a button and point someplace with the Wii remote. Other than that, no real disappointments...

3.0 out of 5 stars From a casual gamer
I guess I should make it clear first that this is a review for "The Incredible Hulk" for the Wii. I see a few people comparing this to another Hulk game that's out there and giving it low stars because of the comparison. This review is for THIS game, not another Hulk title.

PROS:
If you like basic (and I mean basic)button mashing and busting up stuff...

I guess I should make it clear first that this is a review for "The Incredible Hulk" for the Wii. I see a few people comparing this to another Hulk game that's out there and giving it low stars because of the comparison. This review is for THIS game, not another Hulk title.

PROS:
If you like basic (and I mean basic)button mashing and busting up stuff this will be a lot of fun for you. It's a Hulk game, what do you expect, puzzles?
There are tons of little feats that you can accomplish to get power ups and make Hulk stronger. Personally I have found this to be one of the more exciting aspects of the game. Building up characters has always been a favorite of mine.
The Wii controls make this a bit easier to play than on other consoles. I played this for hours on the 360 and could never figure out how to get a basic combo out. For some reason on the Wii that wasn't an issue for me at all. I think this game lends itself more toward a traditional controller, but I was surprised at how well the Wii controller worked with the game.

CONS: The camera angles can be infuriating at times. This is the one real weak point with the Wii controller, you can't quickly move the camera around and when you are in a battle that can be the difference between success and failure.
If you are a connoisseur of good graphics you might want to pass on this one. They really aren't that bad, but if you're picky.....
As much as I like it, I have to admit that constant smashing and bashing can get old after a while. I had to put the game down and plan to pick it up again in a while when I need some mindless gaming.

So basically if you aren't too picky and you like a lot of running around, building up your character and constant punching and bashing you probably will get a kick out of this game.

Also, for parents of younger players, this game does seem to lack the potty-mouth cut scenes that "Iron Man" has. Violence is not very detailed. My 2-1/2 year old twin daughters were watching me play yesterday and were giggling themselves silly. I suppose that's the seal of approval that this one is kid-friendly. ;)

1.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly bad, June 21, 2008
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Incredible Hulk (Video Game)
A few years ago, a little game called Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction was released, and was a surprisingly great take on the Marvel character with free-roaming and destructive environments, plus the overall feeling gameplay-wise that you really were the Hulk. This new movie tie-in Incredible Hulk game from Sega seems to want to follow in the same footsteps, but alas, it is a disappointing, and quite frankly boring smash-a-thon that squanders any potential it has, and the Wii version ends up being the worst version of the game to come out. The first thing you'll notice is just how bad the game looks on the Wii, with glaring glitches and pop-up backgrounds, and some bland looking areas as well. Where the game really falters however is with the Wii Remote and nunchuk controls, which are just utilized so badly here that the game becomes very frustrating. Add to this no option to use any other form of controller for the game, and you're in for a bad time. Occasionally the game is fun by tossing people around, and the film's stars including Edward Norton lend their voices, but as a whole, the Incredible Hulk for the Wii is incredibly bad. All in all, if you own a Wii and are a Hulk fan, avoid this game at all costs, and track down an old copy of Ultimate Destruction instead.

My 9yo son and his 14yo friend play this (taking turns) non stop during sleep overs. Even though they have completed the game, they keep going back to play it again. One of the better games we've bought.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy!, September 6, 2011

My 5 year old will occasionally play it. Not a great game or one that holds his attention for very long. It feels repetitive and as a parent, I'm just not impressed with the game functionality or how to advance through the levels. My 9-yr-old nephew is not that impressed either. I got the game for $10 and I still don't think it was worth it.

My son loves this game--much better than the movie it's based on. :) Yes, violent, but he's centered. If your kid isn't, stick with less smashing and crashing.

2.0 out of 5 stars A very bland game, February 3, 2011
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Incredible Hulk (Video Game)
Of all the games I've played throughout the years, it's hard for me to pick one that I flat out did not enjoy. There were a lot that I thought were seriously flawed and some that were downright frustrating to play, but almost all of them had some entertainment value for me, even if the entertainment came from making fun of how bad the game was. It takes a game so flawed and completely boring for me to not enjoy it. So is there really a game like that? Yes, and that game is The Incredible Hulk for the Wii.This is a bad game. What makes it so bad? Well, let me tell you.

First off, the graphics are pretty good for a Wii game and the Hulk looks well detailed, as do the tanks and the enemies he encounters. However, the city that you explore is pretty bland. It isn't too bad, though. There are some iconic structures that you will constantly be seeing. The graphics are smooth and generally appealing to the eye and the framerate is always smooth as silk.

The controls are also pretty good. They're easy to get used to and they're responsive, although they do get more complex as you unlock new moves and attacks. That's where the trouble starts, though. The special moves are hard to remember and I had to constantly go back and look at the screen that shows how to do them. With some practice, though, you can get used to them.

This doesn't sound too bad, right? Well, don't get your hopes up. The story and the way it's told is awful for this game. It's told in the blandest way, and it isn't interesting at all. It starts out fine but it doesn't go anywhere, so it feels repetitive. But I'm not really an expert on this, since I never finished the game. The ending might be really good, but I wasn't patient enough to wait through the completely monotonous gameplay.

The gameplay is undeniably the worst part of this game. I hate the enemies you fight in this game. They're bland, uninteresting and completely pointless. I counted three total enemy types in the game.
#1. The Robots. They are the least fun to fight because they are the most common and you destroy them all in exactly the same way, every time. This is boring and repetitive.
#2 The Footsoldiers. These are more interesting to fight because they can be killed in quite a few ways. However, they are way too powerful and a couple of them can drain your health in a matter of seconds.
#3. The Tanks. These were the coolest to fight, simply because they felt like something the Hulk really would be fighting. They were challenging, but they were a fun challenge. The problem is there aren't very many at all. I only remember fighting two.

There are probably other enemies you fight later, but the only one I'm sure that you fight is the other weird looking Hulk you see on the back of the box and I'm not playing through the whole game just to do that.

The city may look decent and it feels like there's a lot to explore, but trust me, there isn't. The city is really big, but there's nothing to do. You only have about three objectives to choose from, one being the storyline and the other two being side quests, and they're all boring. And the worst part is the fact that the slow story is the most interesting one. And no matter which one you choose, you always do the same thing. You fight enemies, in the city, during the day. Why is it so repetitive? The opening scene of the game is at night, so why couldn't they incorporate that into the gameplay? Compare this to another open world game like Spiderman 2 on the Playstation 2, Xbox and Gamecube. That game came out in 2004 and it is far superior.

This game's biggest flaw is the lack of objectives and quests. It's an open world game. That means you should be able to do things on at least every block of the city. Am I asking for too much? No. Spiderman 2 did it, and they did it with a much larger city. There's no reason in the world the developers of this game couldn't.

Overall, it's a game that you simply stop playing because there's nothing there. I've only played at most 10 missions, but that was all I needed to play to make up my mind that this isn't fun. Oh, and no replay value. That should be apparent.

My favorite Wii game so far. I like the game play and story and all of hulks special moves. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I like that they got the actors from the film to do all the voices (Norton, Hurt, etc). It's like Rampage in the level of destruction on Manhattan. I would recommend this game.

The Hulk Game is just like several others my son owns--Trnasformers, Spiderman--the character is plunked in a city that looks just like the others, and has to find and destroy enemies who are also very similar. These games are exactly that same--Hulk jumps and Spiderman web slings, but other than these trivial differneces, these are the same game. Also, none of these take advantage of the WII games unique interface; they might as well be a regular gaming system.
