Worried about gas going over $4 a gallon, then have the hulk pound all the cars into scrap metal. The mortgage crisis have you down? Have the hulk smash every building in the whole city to rubble!
The hulk is a priceless way to ease your mind and release stress.Who doesn't like beating up helpless civilians then tossing them a mile into the sky or in a lake. This in my opinion is the best hulk game ever. Even better than ultimate destruction. The graphics look awesome. The models look very detailed and the textures look sharp and vibrant. The city really feels alive, from the cars and trucks driving around on their waypoints to the pedestrians walking along the city streets. To take the immersion up a notch, vehicles will actually hit reverse or turn sharply to avoid the big green dude. Theres plenty to do in this city, from random encounters with squads of enclave that shoot at civilians and blow up buildings or the boss villians that appear randomly, to smashing cars, beating up civilians, destroying buildings or if your threat level gets too high even crushing tanks or fighting the Kyklops which is a robot taller than a building that will stomp the hulk with his foot. Then theres the twisted crazy taxi mini-game where the hulk carries taxi cabs to their destinations! The game makes great use of the havok physics engine, EVERYTHING can be damaged or destroyed in ultra cool fashion and most debris can be used by the hulk as some kind of weapon. A good example is when Ironclad picks up a car and pummels it over the hulks head! Something I never grow tired of doing is throwing cars into the side of buildings and watching it become lodged there. This game has a highly detailed, beautiful open-ended city to completely destroy.Plenty of extra's like different skins and mini games to unlock. Many villians like the enclave, u-foes, military, mechs, robots to fight just to name a few, the action never ends... If you like destruction then this game's for you.

A few years ago, a little game called Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction was released, and was a surprisingly great take on the Marvel character with free-roaming and destructive environments, plus the overall feeling gameplay-wise that you really were the Hulk. This new movie tie-in Incredible Hulk game from Sega seems to want to follow in the same footsteps, but alas, it is a disappointing, and quite frankly boring, next-gen smash-a-thon. Smashing up a pretty looking New York City is as fun as one would hope, and is by far the best aspect of the game to be sure. After that though, things begin to go downhill in terms of gameplay and overall presentation. Once you get bored with just causing destruction, the gameplay elements at their core just aren't that varied, and the boss fights are underwhelming as well. Graphically, the game looks halfway decent, but there are noticeable graphical glitches and occasional bugs that hamper the experience. Oddly enough as well, just like with the Iron Man game that was recently released, the game's cut-scenes are just plain bad. The good points of the game once again involve laying waste to the environment, and film star Edward Norton lends his voice as Bruce Banner as well. Considering how enjoyable Ultimate Destruction was and still is, it's disappointing how Incredible Hulk ends up faring. It's worth a look for Hulk fans, but in the end, you're better off sticking with an old copy of Ultimate Destruction.

The Not-So Incredible Hulk,

Shortly before the next-gen XBOX-360 and PS3 consoles came out, there was a game called The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for XBOX and PS2. It was a fantastic game that pushed the boundaries of the older systems. Hulk was given free roam over a smaller than scale NY city.
The Incredible Hulk movie game listed here is a retread of 'Ultimate Destruction' for the next-gen consoles, and they've done little to bring it up to speed with other next-gen games. It looks like some 1st year Devry kids put together a model of NY city overnight. The game looks pathetic. If you want to see how a real NY-style city should be rendered, go buy GTA IV. The gameplay is almost exactly the same as Ultimate Destruction, except Ultimate Destruction was a lot more fun. Skip this game. They failed in every respect.

I'm going to admit right out, I haven't finished this game. I haven't bothered playing past the first NY mission. I am having WAY too much fun just running around, jumping, climbing buildings, and destroying things. The environment is HUGE, and everything can be smashed to rubble. I beat people on the street up with a GIANT TACO.
A GIANT TACO! ANY game that lets you smash up pedestrians with a giant taco is unarguably seething with EPIC WIN. I only wish I could take the Hulk across the river to destroy New Jersey.

It got high marks on Metacritic. I got it to fill the gap between InFamous 2, and the not-yet-released Arkham City. We wanted an open-world, escapist, super-hero, >fun< game.
We played it for a few hours, and were ready to toss it because it's initially somewhat tedious, repetitive. Smash, run, smash, run...it didn't seem to be going anywhere special. But I went back and gave it one last go and found we'd condemned it right at the gates of it's real ascension. Once you start earning upgrades, and climbing the enemies ladder the game picks up and becomes pretty captivating. Cut scenes are mercifully concise. Music is unobtrusive. The only other problem is the graphics. On the surface, they look primitive and PS2-esque. But when you stop to consider that every square meter of the city (and it's a BIG city) is destructable, you're looking at a deceptively heavy piece of software. Very fun.

Its a fun game no doubt and its more enjoyable if your a hulk fan. But ultimate destruction had a lot more features that really make this game feel a step down then a step up. Movement feel slow in this game I know the hulk is a larger then life super hero but still they should of added a sprint button. Combos are too basic and limited and you can button mash your way through most of the game. The story is lifted straight from the movie thats a good or bad thing but I could care less the film had a better cohesive story then the game. The game looks great its a next gen hulk game so you can expect to see great animation from the hulk. But as for the city it can look down right terrible sometime. The textures are blotchy and when you look at streets or the city from a distance it can look pretty bad. The game has a glitchy feel to it also my game started to stutter a lot almost like it was about to freeze, can't say if the game freezes in general but yeah it could've use some more polish. Its a great game nonetheless must by if your fan of the green giant.

At first I was a little frustrated with this game, as I was a huge fan of Ultimate Destruction, and this was not at all the same. The camera was very frustrating in the intro level, and the controls were not very responsive. After playing this game for about 30 minutes however, I became accustomed to the controls, and started to have fun smashing up New York City. I have played it for probably ten hours now, and I can say definitively that this is a very fun game to just run around and smash stuff. In comparison to the previous Hulk installment aforementioned, this is not near as good of a game. It is simply unfinished. When I climb to the top of a skyscraper, the rest of the city is all grayed out, like the graphics engine couldn't handle all the detail, but that's not true, it just wasn't ever put in there. The controls never do live up to the predecessor, they are very basic. The thing I liked the most about Ultimate Destruction was the seemingly endless array of combo moves you could unlock as you progressed in the game. That is all but gone from this game. The moves are much easier however, and a novice game player would probably be able to better control the Hulk in this game. The story is pretty terrible and instead of getting a cut scene or graphics of any sort for a mission, you just get a picture of a desk, and a lame 2 lines of voiceover. There's literally, no story at all, other than here's your next mission, smash stuff, save somebody, or smash somebody. The only real incetive to continue the story is the upgrades to your powers, and the increasing difficulty of the army chasing after you (think wanted stars ala GTA). In fact, this game is a lot like GTA if GTA just skipped over all the cut scenes and dialogue. Having said all that, I could personally care less what the Hulk has to say, or who's saying what to him, as long as I get to smash the hell out of them, and everything around them when they get done talking. The fact that I can smash a tank with a giant ice cream cone makes up for almost all the lacking elements of this game. It's not rocket science, it's just wanton destruction, limited only by your imagination. I can smash just about everything I can see in this game, and it's really a lot of fun to do that, so I'm happy with this game. Not as happy as I was with Ultimate Destruction, but it's the second best game I've played where the sole purpose is to destroy everything in a fit of rage.

This game is really fun!!! The great thing about it is you get to smash EVERYTHING!! You can even bring down buildings!!!! That's is awesome. You can interact with just about everything on the screen. The missions themselves are cool, but the challenge games and all the little hidden treasures and items is what makes me want to spend hours on the game. The plot itself is a little hokey. What is cool is it actually combines Stark Industries and for you comic book lovers, that is the company of Tony Stark who is Iron Man. There is one mission where you protect the early Iron Man prototype suits. Really fun.
I recommend this game if you are looking for a title that you can just play and destroy while maintaining some sort of mission objective!!

Ok, if you try to take this game serious you are not going to like it. I read a "critics" review and they didn't like the fact that the Hulk destroys the city he is trying to protect. Who cares? Well, some might, so they might want to go play some of those serious complex games that make you think too much, at least for me. Sometimes I don't want to think in a game and man this one helps if you don't. Mahem and destroying everthing is extreme fun! Just don't expect a good story. Again, in a game, who cares sometimes? Well, this game is a blast so far. I do fear that it will get old after a while, but for less than a twenty used, man, what a bargain for some destructive fun. A bit of a break from WWII and some other great games.
