Pop-up books have made a huge comeback in recent years as have comic books (graphic novels). In attempt to cash increase its revenue stream, Marvel has recently released a series of pop-up books published by Candlewick Press featuring the origins of some of Marvel's favorite characters. This series is called the Marvel True Believers Retro Collection. The two previous releases have featured Spider-Man and the X-Men. This title features the Incredible Hulk. The book re-tells the origins of how the mild-manner and keenly-minded Dr. Bruce Banner gained his Mr. Hyde persona and became Hulk. The book also features some of Hulk's enemies including Abomination, The Leader, and Ringmaster. Besides pop-ups, the book also has several pull pieces that have more information or statistics. Other than these features, THE INCREDIBLE HULK POP-UP retells Hulk's origins through a series of comic reprints and side summaries. The book makes a nice gift for fans of Hulk, collectors of Marvel comics, and pop-up book collectors.
