Let's get one thing out of the way; "Incredible Hulk: The Ultimate Destruction" is not only THE best HULK game of all time but also one of the best comic-based games PERIOD!
The game is a great exercise in freedom and interactiveness. As the Hulk, you get to explore the world and pretty much destroy anything you want. Grand Theft Auto on Steriods is not a bad comparison. Here are some things that have stuck out for me: 1. A great tutorial that you can practice in for as long as you want. 2. Tons of mini-games/challenges that not only keep the game entertaining but also allow you to gain SMASH points to buy moves..... 3. The Hulk can perform over 100 moves! You learn the moves by buying them via SMASH points. The moves range from classic Hulk stuff like the Sonic Clap to 'Critical Mass' moves like the Atomic Ground Smash which levels several city blocks and clears all the enemies out! Best of all, when you buy some moves, the game allows you to revisit the tutorial setting again to try out the new moves. 4. Great Enemy Response System ala Grand Theft Auto. Everything from city cops to SWAT and from Army Tanks, helicopters, and F-16s to Hulkbuster Mechs! 5. Very creative and challenging boss battles! I am not gonna spoil them for y'all! 6. The graphics are just like Grand Theft Auto because the horse-power is more appropriately spent on rendering absolutely HUGE worlds and environments for the Hulk to frequent. The innovative game design is also apparent when the Hulk really lets loose and practically nothing is left standing! 7. The voice-acting is great! Neal McDonough who portrayed Bruce Banner in the '90s animated show reprises the role of the troubled scientist while Ron "Hellboy" Perlman -- who voiced the Hulk in an episode of the '90s Fantastic Four episode -- also returns to the Hulk (sort of). Let me just say Ron is not voicing the Hulk. Kudos to Vivendi, Radical, Sierra, Marvel, and everyone involved! Hulk Smash, indeed!

Ahhhhh! At last, we finally get what we asked for: a Hulk game that looks and plays good (and not just good, but great on both accounts).
After the failure of the Hulk film and the mediocre nature of the game tied to it - it was refreshing to see them build this one from the bottom up. Not saying the first Hulk was awful but the linear nature of the game play and the Bruce Banner levels brought the game down a bit; Because when I play a hulk game I sure do prey that I get to play a Metal Gear solid rip-off (please leave that where it belongs, in Metal Gear Solid). The control is extremely responsive and makes excellent use of the Gamecube controller. There was a loose feel now and then but nothing so bad that it would lower the score any. If I had to dock the score any it would be in the camera. Usually it isn't a Problem but in this case it would case some problems and go with an angle that would confuse on occasion but it mostly hit when getting on the rooftops and running across building walls and roofs. The number of moves, mini games, and extra content also pleased me to no and truely brought a lot of replay to the whole shebang. Definatly a must for all Hulk fans and fans of action games.

hulk smash!,

Hulk: ultimate destruction is one fun game. As you should have guessed by now, the player takes control of the hulk and...well...destroys stuff. (of course there's more to the game than that, but i'll save that for later) The first major world in the game is a dark, rainy city. You can roam around freely and spread terror and destruction, or you can take on missions that move the story along. There are also bonus missions that you can do to earn extra points. If you choose to roam the city, there are tons of things to experience. Almost any object you find can be turned into a weapon, and that includes cars, trees, people and even a giant hamburger located outside of a fast food joint. When you pick up an object you will be given several choices of what to do with it. A press of the X button will throw the object (or person); press the Y button to slam the object against the ground, creating a huge crater if you charge up enough; if you picked up a person, you can press the A button to punch them around a little bit. This theme of using everything as a weapon is especially fun when the enemies come in. You can play a mock games of "baseball" by hitting soldiers across the city with a tree trunk (eventually, you will actually find a bonus mission in which you must see how far you can hit a soldier with a concrete column), you can throw cars or other objects at enemy helicopters, and you can even pick up a soldier and fling him at his buddy. Keeping with the "everything's a weapon" theme, some objects can be "weaponized". This is a special techinique that can only be used at certian times. For example, if you pick up a small car, instead of throwing it at a hapless soldier, you can tap the Y button to weaponize it, tearing it in two and wearing each half of the car like a glove. Time to lay the smack down. Not only is it fun to destroy the city, but you also get points for pretty much everything you smash! (Except for civilians...but what the hey, i'll smash them anyway.) These points can then be used to buy new moves to fight enemies with. If you plan on spending a lot of time crushing the cities and not as much time on the missions, you may find that there aren't very many moves to purchase, and you may be left wondering what to do with all of these points that you've racked up. Still, the moves are fun to execute, especially the more powerful ones like "Sonic Clap". Throughout the dity you'll find "!" marks on streets and buildings. When you walk into one of these and press A, you will enter a bonus mission. These missions are fun little distractions, and they help you to get points. Some are a little hard to figure out at first, but once you do you should get the hang of them. The majority of them are quite amusing. Finally, we get to the story mode. The story is good enough to move the game along at a brisk pace, and the cutscenes that tell the story look great for the most part. Story missions often task you with completing somewhat challenging, but still quite fun objectives. One mission might have you travelling from point A to point B without dieing, while another might have you protect a certian location and yet another will ask you to retrieve certian items and bring them back to your hideout undamaged. There is a pretty good variety to the missions, and they are very fun too. So here's the breakdown on Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.
Graphics: 8/10- The characters and the city all look nice, but not great. The cutscenes look good. Sound: 9/10- This game's soundtrack play a lot like a blockbuster movie's. Fun and usually sets the mood nicely. Control: 10/10- The Hulk controls perfectly, and the layout on the controller is good and comfortable to use. Entertainment: 9/10- So far, no aspect of this game has showed any sign of growing stale. I took it over to a friend's house today for a party, and his little sister's friend played the game for hours! This will definatly be in my Gamecube for a good while. Overall, Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction gets a 9.25/10 (not the average. the average is actually 9, but i gave it a little bonus since it's so darn fun.) 2115|R2CGV6396SRTB1;2115|REKRL8QZND9RB;2115|R3OZIFQO5H5PJH;
