From Library Journal
The sole mission of this work is to explain where on the World Wide Web one can find all sorts of things about favorite contemporary pop music artists. Covering 60 acts (e.g., Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, Smashing Pumpkins) that have met the author's criterion of having "multiple hits in the past few years," the book offers interested searchers online access in standardized catagories such as official e-mail addresses, web sites (official and otherwise), articles, and discussion sites. More intense fans can avail themselves of sites providing audio, video, wallpaper, and web rings. Perhaps indicative of the informality that permeates the culture now, all 60 performers covered are listed alphabetically by first name. Though the preteens and teens who are this music's main audience are probably already savvy enough to find most of this material themselves, some public libraries might want to invest in this relatively inexpensive resource for their young adult patrons. All others can take a pass.ADavid M. Turkalo, Suffolk Univ. Law Sch. Lib., Boston
