4.0 out of 5 stars Faithful to the movie
The Incredibles is an awesome movie, and just watching it you can see where the video game was coming from it (Dash's mad run through the forest was great). The GBA version of this game is faithful to the movie, with stills from the movie along with written dialogue (no voices here unfortunately). 2.0 out of 5 stars Game falls short of expectations
To tell you the truth, I was very disappointed by this game. The gameplay gets really repetative very quickly, and the plotline is the same as the movie so there's nothing new. The inability to play as more then one character at a time is very annoying, especially since the whole movie revolves around family. The levels with Violet are the worst, because she can only go...

The Incredibles is an awesome movie, and just watching it you can see where the video game was coming from it (Dash's mad run through the forest was great). The GBA version of this game is faithful to the movie, with stills from the movie along with written dialogue (no voices here unfortunately). You get to play as Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Dash, and even Frozone. The animation is good. Unfortunately, the gameplay is pretty tedious. It's basically a button-masher only. Mr. Incredible moves incredibly slow. Frozone does better, though his part is a minimum. Elastigirl and Dash have good responses, but it's all basically a "here comes a bunch of bad guys/machines, now beat them up". Also, the music gets old quickly, as it sounds like 8 measures of the same song looping continuously. Luckily you have the option to kill the music, so plan on using it.

Unfortunately, there's no save option on this either. It relies on the old tried-and-true method of passwords to keep track of where you are. Keep a pen and paper handy when you play (or get the passwords off the internet and skip right to where you want to play).

All in all, this is a fun GBA game in small doses. I don't think it's going to win any awards for gameplay, but if you're a fan of the movie, this is a great way to pass the time. Mildly recommended.

To tell you the truth, I was very disappointed by this game. The gameplay gets really repetative very quickly, and the plotline is the same as the movie so there's nothing new. The inability to play as more then one character at a time is very annoying, especially since the whole movie revolves around family. The levels with Violet are the worst, because she can only go invisible for short amounts of time, and the levels with Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl are relatively boring. Basically, there isn't much substance to the game other than beating up the same type of bad guy again and again. Save your money for when the movie comes out, and don't buy the game.

Yo this my review. I actually own the game and isn't any fun. This how it works. You start out doing some crime work and that's what you do all of this game. They could have at least made it more intresting. I will give a list of ups and downs and they are,

UPS

It goes along with the story of the movie

DOWNS

Do nothing but fight in the game and you don't do anything else

Game is short

Keep a list of passwords

No one really speaks in the game

Game is very boring

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!! YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY!

1.0 out of 5 stars "E" rating inaccurate, October 5, 2005
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars

We purchased this game as a gift to go along with the Gameboy advance we gave our son for his 5th birthday. We saw the movie and knew there was some "cartoon violence" expected in the game.
What was depicted in the first level of the game was far from "cartoon violence". Mr. Incredible is inundated by masked men with machine guns jumping out of doors. In my opinion this is more like "mob violence" and inappropriate for "everyone".
To the best of my recollection the movie did not have any REAL weapons. Luckily we always view the games before allowing our children to play them so we replaced this one with a more appropriate one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a good choice for younger kids, April 21, 2005
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Incredibles (Video Game)
My 4 yr old is crazy about The Incredibles and counted the days until his Incredibles game arrived in the mail. It was very disappointing. It is a lot of punching and being shot at and that's about it. Since The Incredibles appeal to a very large and young audience (and I know older folks too). I really thought the game would be more appropriate for younger children. It's not. My son loves Zelda, Urbz, and Mario Kart but unfortunatelythis was a waste of money and a big disappointment for a great little guy.

If you are looking for your dream game this isn't it!!! All you do is play as the characters from the movie, but it isn't even as fun as watching the movie 4 times! (8 hours). Also you have to keep a list of passwords for each of the levels so if you lose them you have to start from the beginning and work your way up until you get back to the level you were at. That part is a huge problem. It's very boring unlike the movie and it took me about a day to beat it. It's too short!!!!!! I wish they had made it longer. Every game I own is better than this one( I have 32 games in all besides this game)Get another game, no 15 other games in place of this one. That is how bad it is. Don't say I didn't warn you if you buy and don't like it. If you just love the Incredibles and Gameboy you might like it I dunno, but unless your that kind of person save your money on a different game and if someone already bought it for you, return it to the store where they bought it and get a new game ( that's only if you don't like the game though). Remember what I've said in this review and you'll be fine. THIS IS NOT A GOOD GAME AT ALL!! SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR THE NEW GAMEBOY, THE NINTENDO DS (IN STORES NOW). Good movie unfaithful to the game. That's all folks!

3.0 out of 5 stars Too many codes to note, September 16, 2005
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Incredibles (Video Game)
This game is based on the Incredibles movie. The gameplay is not so fun and somewhat monotoneous. All you have to do is punch all the enemies and go to the next level. This game always tells you a four digits code everytime you go to the next level. I was playing this game for a half an hour and I have a long list four digits code.

Overall this game is not so entertaining. But for those Incredible-fans, especially kids, may like this game as completing each level is not difficult and you'll get 4 digits code so that you can continue your game another time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for people new to Game Boy!, January 4, 2005

This review is from: The Incredibles (Video Game)
I finally bought a Game Boy Advance for my 8 year old daughter (and three younger siblings) and bought this game as well as the Kim Possible one. We havent even opened the Kim Possible yet! For the seasoned gamer, I can see why they thought it was easy, but for us newbies, it is perfect! It was easy enough to figure out what to do without being boring. I'm pretty conservative with TV/violence, but I didnt mind the fighting scenes at all because they are superheroes, fighting for "the good of mankind." My "just turned four year old today" LOVES the game. I'm a busy mom, so I don't want to sit with them for an hour till they're used to the game. It was perfect!

Paint-by-numbers adaptation, awkward and repetitious...and totally uninspired. Sure it's faithful to the film...but even THAT is a drawback, since the game manages to make one of the most original and exciting plotlines I've ever seen into a kind of crappola silent movie with endless AND I MEAN ENDLESS unchallenging fight sequences. Took about as long to beat as it did to design, I'd wager.

This review is from: The Incredibles (Video Game)
I love the game!!! NO VOICE PEOPLE SO IF YOU LIKE VOICES IN VIDEOGAMES, THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE BUYING IT!!!!!!!! I really don't care whether the game has voices though. Anyway you can play as Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl,Violet,Dash, and Frozone. Both types of Violet's powers are in the game so Violet's fans will enjoy that. The thing I really don't like the most about the game is Mr.Incredible. My brother and I did have fun collecting the pass codes though.
