Great children's book, June 26, 2007
This review is from: The Incredibles: Jack-Jack Attack (Little Golden Book) (Hardcover)
My five year and two year old love this story. We like the crazy things that Jack does. A good companion to the Incredibles. It is an easy read and not too long--holds the attention of my two year old.

Great Adaptation of the short film, February 15, 2008
This review is from: The Incredibles: Jack-Jack Attack (Little Golden Book) (Hardcover)
A truly unique adaption of the short film on The Incredibles DVD...
For those interested in the art, it was not done by Mark Andrews, he, along with Krista Swager are credited as "Adapted By", the art was done by one Tony Fucile, and the art is what truly truly makes this book special!!! Unlike the other review that pans the art, the illustration is fantastic and imaginative, my Seven year old loved it, and it is why I bought the book.
It looks like traditional brush work, gouache or acrylic or even done on a computer to look like the aforementioned. Nevertheless, the way it was done conveys the action/fun of the animated story in the static fashion of the printed page.
A beautiful book...would love to see more of this artists work outside of the animation industry!

Childrens book... sort of., February 27, 2006
This review is from: The Incredibles: Jack-Jack Attack (Little Golden Book) (Hardcover)
I mostly dissagree with Amit Ghosh's review. True it doesn't look that great for a childrens book and overall probably isn't a great childrens book. Then again it's a CHILDRENS book and I'm not sure children would really care for how good the art is. But as an artist and animator, I fully appreciate this little book myself. Mark Andrews was the lead story artist on The Incredibles. His work is quite amazing if you can get past the fact that animation art has more energy and wonderment as rough and quick sketches. His other book, Colossus is a marvel but is definitely not a childrens book. Objectively I give this book a respectable 3 stars. It's not the greatest kids book but if you like animation art, it's a must.
