4.0 out of 5 stars Rise of the Underminer: Wish there was a film. March 28, 2006
A Kid's Review
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is very fun. Playing as Frozone makes it ten times more fun than if you could only play as Mr. I. The environments are fun and the robots are comical, but the boss levels are easier than they should be. It's made more for windows than mac and runs better on laptops, but it's quite addicting, but short. Rats. But the Nuts and Bolts levels are fun. I wish that Pixar had made a film.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Kids 7-11 September 28, 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Had no issues installing it on 2 different machines, one older and one newer. Standard USB gamepad worked right out of the box. Looks great using a high end video card I bought 3 years ago so I would figure any Video card bought today would support this game well.

My son has been playing it off and on since he was 6, he is 8 now and loves it. Its challenging and not overly complicated. The levels are well designed and stretched out to good intervals, maybe a little short, for kids its fine. Definetly not an adult game, unless you enjoy relentless punch em' up activity. Its fairly harmless for kids, our heroes beating the crap out of villainous robots mostly, Frozone doing his freeze thing, which is fun. Very much like the movie, perhaps even less violent.

I would say , for $15-20, this is a decent game that your young son will enjoy.

As long as you have a machine that was built in the past 4 years, you shouldnt have any technical issues.

4.0 out of 5 stars My Kids Love this Game January 9, 2006
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
We bought this game for our kids (ages 10 and 8) for Christmas... my son (8) especially loves this game. So for at least the first 3 weeks, this game was well worth the money. It is action packed but not too violent and all the kids enjoy playing what they consider a sequel to the movie. (my 4 year old likes to watch the game)

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT! December 4, 2005
This is not a perfect game. The main flaw is that it is a short game. Some would say the other flaws are that the solo game is meh and that the game is too easy. This is probably coming from 30 year old men. kids will love this. It is light, and very fun. The action puzzles aren't too hard to figure out. THe game actually lets you play with two players at once throughout the entire game. This is perfect for siblings. Not unlike lego star wars for two players. Mr. Fantastic is by far more fun to play, but playing as Frozone ain't to shabby. Bottom Line: If you are looking for a fast paced great two-player game. THis is it. Buy it Now.

1.0 out of 5 stars most unfriendly to setup pc game I loaded this year December 26, 2005
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I have played alot of pc games over the years. I am very familiar withthe ability to customize controls for these games to best suit personal style. This game has exactly 0 ability to use the mouse or gamepads... a very frustrating and dissapointing limitation. The mobility of the charachters is also very archaic and limited as well. I was hoping to use the advertised 2 player capability to let both my kids play at the same time - the only way this is possible is to have them both using the keyboard at the same time - and they are 4 1\2 and 6 yrs old, so guess how easy that is? Not gonna happen. In hindsight, I wish I had not bought this game. Bummer.

P.S. I rated 3 for fun because to be honest my oldest son still likes to play it... but he has LOTS of requests for help, FYI.

4.0 out of 5 stars A decent follow-up to the original May 8, 2006

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
As mentioned by others, highlights include being able to play as Frozone and the two-player cooperative mode. Down side: it's too easy and too short.

Contrary to other reviewers, I have not had any trouble with the game crashing, although I'm using a Mac. Nor have I had significant trouble using two gamepads simultaneously in cooperative mode. I have had to reconfigure gamepads a few times, but once detected by the game and configured, they work flawlessly. Try plugging them in before running the game.
