Teenage hero on the run from the past,
By Semioticghost "Semioticghost" (London, UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Incubus (Puffin Teenage Books) (Paperback)
Danny, the teenage hero of "Incubus" is on the run from the past. His family have relocated to Hope Springs, a wholesome alternative community where nobody knows that Danny's father has committed multiple murders despite unclear motives. Danny fears to inherit the insanity that drove his father over the edge and tries desperately to have a normal life.
His fears about his state of mind aren't the only worries - a dislikeable man is making moves on his mother and a definitely likeable girl is making moves on him. The plot develops around these relationships seen through Danny's eyes; the resolution is not as straight forward as one might initially suspect and the characters are well developed, making this an interesting read. |
