Book Description

I hang my head in sorrow for just a moment when I know I am truly alone. I feel like I’m going to my execution, just as he had said. Then I move forward again. I hop a fence of fieldstone and cross a field dotted with Queen Anne’s lace. Goose bumps rise on my arms as I pass the cluster of windmills that I have seen in a dream. The scent is sweet in the field though, not the scent of heat, like it had been when it was forced upon me in visions. I gaze down the hill, beyond the small, whitewashed house that I knew would be there. The church looms dark and grim with its rough-hewn, timber façade, capped by tall, oblong spires reaching to the sky. Black, ominous clouds have collected above the roofline, as if Heaven is showing me the way.

About the Author

Amy A. Bartol is the award-winning author of the Premonition series, which includes the novels Inescapable, Intuition, Indebted, and Incendiary. A graduate of Hillsdale College, she lives in Michigan with her husband and their two sons. Emily Woo Zeller began her voice-over career by voicing animation in Asia. She returned to the United States in 2009 and found a natural fit as an audiobook narrator. Described by AudioFile magazine as doing "an extraordinary job of varying the voices in the dialogue without losing the intimacy of the story," Emily's multilingual, multicultural framework brings a particularly unique, clear-eyed, and intimate perspective into Asian American narratives. While she specializes in Asian American narratives, Emily's work spans a broad spectrum, including young adult fiction and such titles as The Whites of Their Eyes by Jill Lepore and The Sex Diaries Project by Arianne Cohen. She also narrated Gulp by Mary Roach, for which she won an AudioFile Earphones Award.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amy Bartol is going places! May 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Intuition (Book One) sucked me in! I not so patently awaited Inescapable (Book Two), and counted down the days to Indebted (Book Three) and was NOT disappointed. Amy Bartol is going places. Her ability to bring you into the story is beyond anything I've found in a long time. I laughed and cried while reading Indebted. I changed my mind on how I felt about characters, and simply had a hard time putting the book down. The book is a roller coaster ride, just when you think you have things figured out, you are slapped with something new. She sure keeps you hopping, and I love that!! You never know what to expect. I fell in love with Evie's Strength (Heart, Mind, and Soul), Russel's humor, Reed's Heart, Zee's Old School Mind... I can not wait for Book 4!

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing!! April 26, 2012

Format:Kindle Edition
Every day since the release of the second book in this series, I have visited the author's website to see if Indebted had been released yet. My heart jumped and I was thrilled when I saw it had finally made it on Amazon. This series is very well written and I felt absorbed by it. I could not put these books down and I am so drawn to each of the characters. I believe this series is perfect for young adults, as I am in college myself. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys taking a journey away from their own world for awhile. Russell is definitely my favorite character throughout the series. Please read this book, it is so worth your time and you won't regret it. Come on, each book is only a few dollars when it is worth so much more! Very original and doesn't let you down!

3.0 out of 5 stars Getting tired of spoiled-child Evie... May 23, 2012
By Ashton
Format:Kindle Edition
Ok. Let me just say first, that I absolutely loved the first book. Original story with tons of rich characters and a lot of good villans and suprises.

However, one can only take so much of a love triangle that IS STILL LASTING IN THE THIRD BOOK. One can only take the EXACT SAME STUPID PLANS made by the main character Evie because she is like a spoiled child and it's like it's her way or the highway. It's hard for me to believe that she is still acting like this in the third book. For goodness sake, Reed is TREATING her like a child *spoiler* with the bodyguards and such and "dumping" her on the bed with them in one scene! What happened to the brainaic tough field hockey girl in the first book that thought out things logically and only had eyes for Reed and DUMPED IT OFF with Russell? I am so so so so sick of Russell. I am so so so so sick of love triangles...I don't really know any reader who enjoys them. I don't know very many girls who have trouble with love triangles in real life. Does anyone else?! Certainly not for three books' worth of dismay.

This series is fantastic with its rich description and characters. But if it continues down the path of Evie never seeing her wrongs and the love triangle (now almost quadrangle) I will not be reading the fourth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't put the book down!! April 30, 2012

I read the first two books in a few days and really liked it! I was already really invested in the characters, but nothing like I have after reading the 3rd book! Amy Bartol has created an even more complex world and brings the drama and romance to a whole other level. At the end of this book I was dying to know what happens in the fourth one. I just love the villians in this books. I have one particular favorite! It is a great thing when you even enjoy the villian. I am anxiously awaiting the next book!! It is so hard to find a book to fill the time that I enjoy as much as this one!! I may just need to reread the series from the beginning.

3.0 out of 5 stars phew. wow. okay. that's difficult. August 21, 2012

I am just gonna write down out all my thoughts. I have to write it down because otherwise I won't calm down ;)
Okay. So lets just begin with the fact that I have enjoyed the book. It has action, it made me laugh, It was exciting.. blaah. It was a good book. But there were a few things that really annoyed me. First of all Brennus' accent.. I didnt even understand half of the things he said, haha. I even skipped parts and just read the things Evie said. But you get used to it, so whatever.
Secondly. And this is what really freaked me out, I just wanted to hit Evie. why? I'll tell you in a second. Russel. I don't like Russel. If I ever read "Gettin me girl back" again... Jesus. What else does Evie have to do to show him that she chose Reed. 1.She had sex with him, 2.she is bound to him, 3.his wings are marked on her chest. And Russel just keeps coming to her saying "Dont let his love for him tear us apart..I need ya.. I know what ya feel for me.. blabla. And Evie? She is just standing there either crying or saying nothing.
Make a choice. girl. Reed deserves beeter.. seriously.
SPOILER SPOILER.
And at the end of this book, there is the first chapter of the next book (the 4th book of the series)and guess what, Russel kisses Evie in front of Reed at the beach.. (to show Brennus that she is his girl).. and she doesn't even do anything. She just stands there and kisses him back. IN FRONT OF REED ??
"I just gotta get a little smackerel from my girl"
For god's sake. She has a boyfriend/husband. Reed!! who is just standing right behind her, doing everything for her. And she just touches her lips saying: I missed you.
what the hell? Isn't it just better for Russel to leave and respect the fact that she is with someone else?

More About the Author

I live in Michigan with my husband and our two sons. My family is very supportive of my writing. When I'm writing, they often bring me the take-out menu so that I can call and order them dinner. They listen patiently when I talk about my characters like they're real. They rarely roll their eyes when I tell them I'll only be a second while I finish writing a chapter...and then they take off their coats. They ask me how the story is going when I surface after living for hours in a world of my own making. They have learned to accept my "writing uniform" consisting of a slightly unflattering pink fleece jacket, t-shirt, and black yoga pants. And they smile at my nerdy bookishness whenever I try to explain urban fantasy to them. In short, they get me, so they are perfect and I am blessed.
