“Whatever rating system you might use to rank book reads, Indecent Proposal by Molly O’Keefe will blow it right out of the water. . . . Once again, with this book, she excels! Indecent Proposal brings together two lonely, pained individuals, puts them in an untenable relationship, and has them come out the other side in a solid and loving partnership. But the path to get there is filled with anguish and soul searching, and whew, what a ride! . . . I can’t wait to see what O’Keefe offers next.”Fresh Fiction

This has a lot of things I love in a book, intrigue, angst and challenges the main characters has to face that keeps you wanting to know more. I would have given this a 5 star had it not been for the fact it had too many self recriminations.Unending self monologue both by Harrison Montgomery and Ryan Kaminski, to a point where it sometimes got on my nerves I started skimming at the last half of the book.

The story had a good potential and would have been an exceptional read had it not been for the characters unsteadines and uncertainties state of minds. They want and desire each other and would go at it and have hot and steamy sex, the next, they are not speaking at each other and would go on and on with their self monologue rehashing their regrets why they shouldn't be together. In the end, I just did a fast forward read skimming at some of their self thoughts to get to the HEA. I would still recommend this, especially the writing is exceptionally good.

I pre-ordered this book ages ago and admit to certain preconceptions, but this author blew them all out of the park. I've read most of the books in this series and haven't loved them all but one thing is consistent; the author's ability to write. I know that this book can stand alone but I'd recommend at least reading one or two of the previous stories, particularly 'Never been Kissed'. We'd read about this H in that book and he sounded like a good guy with issues. The author delivered exactly that. The H and h have a hot one night stand and she falls pregnant and because of his political career, they agree to an arranged marriage. This book is fraught with tension that is well written and believable. This is not a short, romantic read but it is a very good book. I'm not going to lie and say that I loved the H throughout the book because actually I'd have liked him to grovel a bit for how he treated the h. It's a really good story though and one I'd definitely recommend.

This is my first Molly O'Keefe book. I was surprised to read that a publisher was involved with the book, not because there were the glaring spelling and grammar errors so common today, but because it wasn't as smooth a read as I expect from a big name publisher. I thought Molly showed talent in her writing, but the whole didn't seem polished. Also, the title doesn't fit -- there is no indecent proposal.
Ryan and Harry were great, and the first half of the book was 5 stars. But the 2nd half of the book just didn't have enough oomph to keep me interested. I can't quite put my finger on it, but Harry & Ryan started acting like teens - it just didn't seem to fit. Wallace finds insta-love. Are Mother and Dad good or bad? And there were stupid things like not knowing who exactly is saying what & having to re-read to figure it out. Also, at 3 months pregnant, the father is not going to feel the baby moving. So the whole 2nd half was me rolling my eyes and wanting to slap these people and the author. Glad for the HEA, but the 2nd half needs work. It's an okay read as it stands, but I wouldn't pay more than $4.

I love this series! Molly O'Keefe sure knows how to write romances driven by emotional connections. There is also a bit of passion here too, although it is tamer than the prior two books in the Boys of Bishop series which I have read. I also loved that we got to revisit some of my favorite characters from Book 2 of the Boys of Bishop series, as the hero in this story is the brother of the heroine in Never Been Kissed. Last, but definitely not least, Ms. O'Keefe's attention to the seedier side of political life is also to be commended, as it plays a prominent role in this novel and provides for an interesting side story to the romance.

Although this is the fourth book in the Boys of Bishop series, which details the love lives of various couples having some connection to the small town of Bishop, Arkansas, this book can be read as a standalone. To the extent you do plan on reading the entire series, there is some benefit to reading the books in chronological order, as prior characters do make appearances and continue to develop in the later books. In particular, you should plan on reading Never Been Kissed, Book 2, before this book as there are spoilers with respect to the couple in that story as this one pretty much takes place concurrently.

Harrison Montgomery was born into politics. His father is a long-time politician who even ran for Vice President of the United States at one time. Growing up in the spotlight, he didn't have much of a childhood. Not just because of the press, but because his family has always made it clear that politics take precedence over everything, even a normal, loving family life. In fact, the most domestic situations he can remember growing-up, where usually staged photo ops.

I'm not sure what to make of this book. I enjoyed the first half and then it kind of lost me, mostly because it started to get repetitive and the relationship between Ryan and Harrison didn't seem to be going anywhere.

"Indecent Proposal" is the story of Ryan Kaminski, a down-and-out bar tender in New York, and Harrison Montgomery, an up-and-coming politician from a political dynasty in Georgia. The two meet at the bar where Ryan works while Harrison is in New York trying to rescue his sister. They share an explosive night of passion, Ryan ends up pregnant and the two are forced to marry so Harrison isn't involved in a political scandal.

I liked Ryan to a point. She was strong and independent, but seemed to have no life plan or marketable skills. I thought she and Harrison had great chemistry, and once they were on the campaign trail together it seemed that Ryan was a natural at relating to the average voter. I liked that she could hold her own in Harrison's world.

I didn't like or dislike Harrison. He was something of a nonentity and his personality was too extreme. He was emotionally closed most of the time unless he was having sex with Ryan. I never got the sense that he knew what love was or how to express it so I never believed that he could be in love with Ryan. I also never felt that he had any feelings toward the baby or being a father.

I did think Ryan and Harrison had great chemistry and I wanted them to end up together. I enjoyed the sex scenes but my one complaint would be that, at times, they seemed almost too rough; there was no tenderness. Which I didn't enjoy. It's hard to explain.

As mentioned previously, I enjoyed the first half of this book and could not put it down.
