Where Cage tries to pry open the void, surrealist Ernst stuffs it full of bird phantoms, dismembered angels, atavistic gargoyles and insect airplane traps. The result is postmodernity in all it's laughable and lurid splendor. Two 25-minute programs written and produced by Dwight Frizzell & Jay Mandeville, with original music by Michael Henry, Cliff Baldwin and members of the newEar Chamber Ensemble.
