I appreciate that getting blue, with natural vegetable colors, is hard, but for the price this commands, I was hoping for better results. As a matter of fact, I got a better yellow and red myself, in my own kitchen, than this product produces. The "blue" isn't worth mentioning...a weird pale grayish color is more like what it produces. I have also failed at producing a true blue natural food coloring in my own kitchen, or at least one that didn't turn grayish within 24 hours. Perhaps that's the best that can be done without artificial dyes.
But for the price, I had hoped they had done better than I could with my own materials and abilities, and I was disappointed. Happily, I made my own brilliant yellow and pink/red sugar with other materials, but as for blue, all the suggestions online also come up with something pale, greenish or greyish, and disappointing. The good news is, the classic color for icing or frosting, is white. That's why they call it icing, and frosting. It's supposed to be white. With my own colors (or this product, to be fair) I can get pastel pink icing, or pastel yellow. Blue isn't really so necessary. But this was not a good deal for what it cost. Perhaps it was too old, and the colors had faded? THey were not anything like the circle of colors shown in the picture.
