Product Description

These liquid decorating colours are made from highly concentrated vegetable colourants and contain no synthetic dyes. They produce icings in soft pastels and rich jewel tones found only in nature. Combine the three colours to create a full spectrum of colours.
Set of 3 bottles, ľ ounce/21 grams each
Colour/Pattern: Red, yellow, and blue
Ingredients: Blue: glycerin, vegetable juice, filtered deionized water; Red: beet juice, citric acid; Yellow: glycerin, turmeric, deionized water
Allergens: Contains no corn syrup or synthetic dyes
Kosher
NOTE: Two year shelf life, but best before December 2013 (as the product contains no additives or preservatives, the intensity of the colours achieved will degrade over time) or keep refrigerated to prolong shelf life. The blue colour produces purple-blues to green-blues when added to frostings and icings, depending on the pH (more acid tends to purple; more alkaline tends to green) and other factors.

2.0 out of 5 stars so frustrated - I REALLY wanted to love it December 15, 2011

Searching for food dye that does not have any corn derivative in it is really difficult. I found this and was willing to pay $30.00 for it!!!

1. The set is for 3 colors and you can mix to make all the pretty colors in the pictures, I am an artist and have not problems with mixing colors. It comes with Red, Yellow, blue

2. Problem 1: The blue was not blue at all - it was swampy muddy green. not teal, not blue-green, not anywhere close to Blue. I shook and shook the product until I was blue in the face and was still a swampy mud brown/green. Absolutely nothing I can do with this color. My daughter wanted a princess cake with pink and purple - I said no problem. Big Mistake - I simply CANNOT make purple from this color.

3. It takes a TON of coloring to shade the icing. I have 2 pounds of icing (standard for a small cake) - it took over 1/2 the red to make a light pink icing. So frustrating. Now, the red is almost gone and I cannot make purple. this stinks!

4. Oh yea, it cost $30 for this??

Save your money - make your own dye from food - I am about to go on an exploration to find the perfect way to make purple because my little girl just wants a pink and purple cake.

3.0 out of 5 stars natural colors are kind of pastel October 6, 2011

These natural food dyes are great for keeping toxins out of my food, but their range of color is limited compared to that of conventional artificial food dyes. Not that there's anything wrong with a subdued color palette. Just be prepared for different shades than what you're used to. Well worth it! I'd rather have a Dark Pink Velvet Cake with no toxins than a Red Velvet Cake with toxins!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent natural food color April 11, 2011
These are exactly as advertised; a natural set of food dyes that give beautiful natural tones. They do separate but are easily fixed by shaking, or adding a drop or two of vegetable glycerin to restore their moisture. I work with powders, gel and liquid natural dyes and these are so far the easiest to work with, the gel is easy to squeeze out a single drop at a time and get just the right shade. I will definitely buy these again.

1.0 out of 5 stars this stuff is useless if you want any color other than yellow.
I am so upset. This stuff is useless unless you want any color other than yellow. The blue is not blue. You can only use it to make multi shades of grey. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars AWFUL
It was clumpy and old. The yellow was brown with a huge clot at the top that had to pass. When I contacted them to complain I was NOT refunded. Read more
