More About the Author
I am currently (i) Hon. Director of Gandhi Centre of Science & Human Values, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore, and also (ii) Hon. Professor at National Instiute of Advanced Studies (NIAS),Bangalore,India. I retired from National College, Basavanagudi, Bangalore as Principal and Professor of Mathematics after 35 years of service, teaching Mathematics.
I have been a researcher in History of Astronomy, particularly Indian Astronomy. I have completed projects on Indian Astronomy since 1993 under the Indian Natonal Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi.
I have published quite a few books, research papers and popular articles on Indian Astronomy.
In 2006 I presented a paper at the Science Section of the XIII World Sanskrit Conference held at Edinburgh, Scotland, on a Comparative Study of Three Astronomers of the 16th Century:Copernicus, Nilakantha Somayaji and Ganesa Daivajna.
At present I am working on Indian Astronomical Tables vis-a-vis Euopean Astronomical Tables.
