This is real music.,

This is great stuff. My 2-year old likes to groove to it, and my husband can't keep from picking up his guitar to play along. You might recognize the songs, but Skip Ewing has given them all clever new personalities and massaged the old traditional words just enough to make you pay attention. Lots of kids CD's claim to have music that adults will like, but this is really the first one I've heard that is really sophisticated enough to entertain adults and still engage kids in the traditional children's classics. While I'm at it, I also recommend "Happy Songs" by Milkshake, and "For the Kids" by various.

The Best Yet,

I hate children's albums because they are so lame, but this is the exception. I find myself listening to this even when the kids aren't in the car. Skip Ewing is a wonderful musician and singer, and this album is written to adult standards and is full of surprises.

For kids big and small,

My dad got a copy of this CD for himself and the grandchildren after hearing pieces on the radio. My brother, who has no children yet was quite jealous! It's that good of an album. My son, who was nine months at the time we got it, loved it immediately. Everytime we put it on he would start wiggling, and now that he's walking, he dances to it. It is a cute and catchy album, and in our family, 3 generations are loving it.

This is a really wonderful CD that will appeal to both kids and adults. I'm not quite sure why it's so unknown -- it deserves to be a best-seller. I'd recommend it to everyone and have sent it to lots of other people who all love it too. Give it a try!

Children's Classics Meets the Big Bandz,

Now this is a children's album with a twist to it. Skip Ewing is one of Nashville's top singer/songwriter whose track record include over a dozen hit singles and artists who recorded his songs are a long list. Ewing makes his step into family music with a very unique concept. He takes some of the most popular children's songs and turns them inside out! Take the classic "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" runnning into a jazzy tune that took the "A" Train. How about a funky version of "Old McDonald?" The theme show song to the Andy Griffith Show accompanies the silly, hilarious song, "Mah Na Mah Na & A Side of Aunt B's Grits." And if you couldn't get enough there's a tuba version for "Dueling Banjos." Or is that "Dueling Tubas?" This is one humorous kids album the parents will also enjoy so much it would be hard to get it away from the Big Kidz. This is top notch!

I really dug it and so did my kids. (So did my mother) It's fun and smart and cool. Talked to a friend who's a grandad and he listens to it even without the grandkids. It's that good.

I borrowed this from the library and had to order a copy of our own. Due to much use I now have to order another copy (ours died) - my daughter and I love it, and everyone who hears it wants a copy.
I wish they would do another album!

This is the best adult friendly kids' album ever made. I love it so much, I've been known to listen to it without the kids around. My favorite is "Fare Thee Well Fondly". If you have kids, get it. If you don't, consider it anyway.
It takes old standard children's songs and puts a new twist on them, giving them some real musical creativity and a heart of gold. There is a great message throughout the album of kindness, creativity and experimentation. It's just a great album and I can't say enough about it.

I work with young children and enjoy cd's that are not the same songs we've all heard many times. This was a great addition to our cd collection.
