5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, comprehensive book on the Sierra Miwok
This is a detailed, comprehensive book on life of the Sierra Miwok.
Originally published in the 1930s as "Miwok Material Culture," the
book is still relevant for those who want to know about Miwok life.
It goes in to Miwok tools, baskets, food, shelter, games, and other aspects of everyday Miwok living.

1.0 out of 5 stars Paiutes were the main Indians of Yosemite
The book was about Miwoks around the Yosemite region, who were brought up to work for miners and settlers. The majority of Indians living in Yosemite were Paiutes from Mono Lake and Bridgeport. Chief Tenaya was the founder of the Paiute Colony of Ahwahnnee...and that is documented.
