About the Author
Sarat Chandra Das was the Secretary of the Buddhist Society of India, and Associate Member of the Asiatic Society of Bengal. He was appointed as Headmaster of the Tibetan Boarding School in Darjiling (present day Darjeeling) in 1874. He was deeply interested in the study of Tibetan language and culture and undertook several successful expeditions to Tibet
