Well worth reading,

This review is from: Indian Slavery In Colonial Times Within The Present Limits Of The United States (1913) (Hardcover)
Many years ago I was interested in the American colonial period so I went brousing through numerous used book stores looking for books of the subject.
I found a copy of this book and picked it up without thinking. Since then I have read it many times. Clearly anglo biased and racially as well but most informative on this small piece of history. Each time I find myself wanting to know more but nobody has seriously written anything of value about the practice of Indian Slavery especially that practiced in the English colonies. I have read bits and pieces hinting about the practice done by the Puritans during their colonial period with the Pequots and the Narragansets. I have read of it mentioned in Virginia but nobody has seriously written about it. There is even talk of Washington enlisting freed Indian slaves but nothing definative. Indeed I don't even know where or when the practice really ended. I wish somebody would seriously study this subject and write about it and advance knowledge beyond this book.
