5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Beautiful Voice in the World, May 6, 2004
This review is from: Indiana (Audio CD)
First of all let me say I am 100% biased. I own David's 1st 2 albums and love them both. This however, is a slight departure from his previous Pop productions, no doubt the result of a year of touring, doing mostly acoustic shows. I have seen David live, both with a band as well as solo and believe me, it doesn't make any difference. It's the VOICE! On Indiana, the arrangements are largely acoustic and sparse which place the spotlight firmly on David's voice. Favorites here are "Beauty", "Indiana" and "Ordinary Life." His masterful remake of the Michael Jackson classic "Human Nature" is something to behold. Did I say he had a great voice? This man could sing a phone book and bring me to tears. BUY IT!

David Mead is an outstanding songwriter, musician, and performer. This album displays his great talent. His music is very soothing not to mention catchy. I love all of his albums, but this one can be listened straight through-especially during car rides or on you ipod during those long walks. His music is inspiring, beautiful, and different in a good way!!. My favorites-Beauty, Indiana, Ordinary Life, and...well they are all sooo good!! Even gives you the chills!! Buy his album!! and encourage others to listen. You are guaranteed to become a fan of his once you hear his music.

David Mead has been at his craft for some time now and his musical growth and evolution have finally delivered the CD that deserves significant attention. This CD should bring him to the next level because it's a top flight collection of tunes that somehow we all knew he could deliver. The previous two CD's were very good, but this is the one that stands out as his best work to date. If you're new to DM, start here and work backwards.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best david mead cd ever, May 5, 2004

each david mead cd i've loved more than the last...but indiana is awesomely stupendously brilliant and beautiful all the way through...mellow, yet engaging, perfectly produced with restraint and bouyancy by mead and david henry. mead's lyrics have always been a treat, but here he achieves perfection. if you have the chance to see him live, please do. he pulled into atlanta last year and it was one of the best, most vivid memories of a show rolling around in my brain.

5.0 out of 5 stars With David, words begin to fail me, November 28, 2004
This review is from: Indiana (Audio CD)
David's voice is absolutely brilliant. I am so upset the record company is still not making more of an international push. David has yet to play in Canada, although he is big in the UK. When I was there in summer 2001 there were more than a few posters of Mine And Yours.
David's songwriting ability is impossible to ignore. The transition in his songs from verse to chorus is nothing short of tremendous. It will give you goosebumps.
I have really enjoyed each CD more than the other and that is quite a rarity these days. Right from the opening notes of Nashville I had a smile on my face. When I had reached the end of track 4 (Beauty) I had tears in my eyes.
Thank you David for another stunning collection of hauntingly brilliant songs. You make music make sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars superb album, October 10, 2005
This review is from: Indiana (Audio CD)
A superb album - Mead strips back the "band" elements and comes up with a sparse but haunting collection of songs that reflect his solo live shows much more closely. This version includes the superb "chutes & ladders" only available as a single b side.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maybe his best, February 28, 2011

I have all of David's albums. His debut album was so good I thought he would never top it. This album is completely different than that first one, but I find myself listening to this more than any of his other works. Quiet arrangements, almost 100% acoustic, great lyrics, just wonderful. If you have ever heard any of David's music, and liked it, try this one. He is one of the truly talented singer - songwriters working today.

Item as described, fast shipping. Great CD- it's the usual singer-song writer sound..easy to listen to...good sound...neat cover of wacko-jacko's human nature (yes he is still dead).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Musical Discovery..., August 20, 2008

DM's music is stunning. As a musician, I would be proud to have anything to do with this guy's band. Just listened to You Might See Him and, I swear, this can be heard in a continuous loop for hours. All the songs on this CD are stellar, but then, so are ALL his CDs, and I couldn't recommend one over the other, which is almost unheard of. Great arrangements; creative and tasteful. While more conservative on this album (arrangements), his others are more aggressive/inventive. DM is one of my four greatest musical discoveries of the past 10 years. Some music is so amazing that you're compelled to write about it (like now). Seriously, don't pass up this treasure trove of music. Trust me...
