I just bought this game and have been playng it a lot. Im at Istanbul for those who would like to know. But one thing that really SUCKS about this game is that there is no other save function besides the autosave at the end of each level. This is really a fun game. I've had it for a while, but have only recently been able to play it (I'll explain later), and in the short time I've been playing it has quickly become one of my favorite games I've ever played.

Anyone who has played the last Indy game (Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine) can remember the poor graphics, lame bad guys, and boring action that was that experince. Sure, it was fun, and I enjoyed it, but compared to this new(ish) game, it might as well be Pong. In "Infernal", you took down most of your enemies with a pistol or some other gun, and it didn't really have that Indiana Jones feel. In "The Emperor's Tomb", the fighting gameplay is much improved, with variations of punching, kicking, whipping, shooting, and clobbering. You can use items such as chairs, bottles, table legs, and shovels to your advantage here, and so can your enemies. Yes, you do get an assortment of guns, but ammo is usually very limited, and you will often find yourself resorting to fisticuffs (Which is more fun anyway).

The graphics look sweet. There are waterfalls, trees, city streets, submarines, shipwrecks, and all kinds of great eye candy. That said, don't be fooled by the low price. This game WILL NOT RUN ON YOUR OLDER MACHINES. I made this mistake. MAKE SURE YOUR SYSTEM MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS BEFORE YOU BUY. I had to wait until I got a much nicer computer before I could even load this game.

This is a must-have for the Indiana Jones fan, a chance to BE Indiana Jones, punching Nazis, whipping across chasms, and stealing treasures. Its just pure Indy goodness.

I have had this game for about 1 month, and it is one of my favorites. Some of it's highlights are:

-good graphics
-fun and realistic fighting
-intriuging storyline
-classic Indy feel
-large arsenal of weapons
-ability to pick up things like liquor bottles, chairs, and tablelegs and use them as weapons

The only sucky thing is that if you die, you restart the level. However,it's not hard to get to where you were. For anyone who care's, I'm in peng lai lagoon right now.Oh, and 1 other thing. You should DEFENETLY downloud the demo to see if it works on your computer. So, good luck!

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun action/adventure title..., January 20, 2006

This was The Collective's third game, and it shares both its engine and has some gameplay similarities to their earlier (and better) Buffy title, which was unfortunately never released on PC.

The easiest way to describe Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb is to say it's like Tomb Raider done right***. It has much, much more polished (and less frustrating) gameplay, much better control, and of course much better graphics (not cutting edge by PC standards, but still very well done). There's a solid fighting engine here too-the combat works pretty well (though isn't as deep as in Buffy), and helps add variety to the Tomb Raider-style level navigation. The only "catch" is you really need a control pad for this-I'd recommend using Microsoft's wired USB 360 pad, which works great on PC.

As mentioned in an earlier review, you can't save anywhere. I didn't find that to be too much of a problem. There were a few levels I had to start over, but for the most part the game doesn't have "cheap deaths", and the gameplay is nicely balanced.

***This was written before Tomb Raider actually WAS done right-in Tomb Raider: Legend and the following games. Those are well worth the money in my opinion, but this is still a nice game if you missed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Very Fun Game !!, November 19, 2011

This review is from: Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
To start, let me say how happy I am for making the decision to buy this game. Many years ago I used to own the infernal machine, but didn't get into it very far to know if I even liked the game. So many times I had the opportunity to purchase Emperor's Tomb. Well like always when I hum and ha, about wether or not I should purchase a game, naturaly it goes out of site. Several days ago I thought I would go ahead and take a chance and purchase Emperor's Tomb, and since it was a mere 4-5 dollars, I thought what the heck, let's give it a try. Wow what a fantastic game. I went through all the reviews before my puchase and the only problem that like everyone else mentions is the no way to save your progress. Oh well ! To say the least, I could not imagine myself not having this very wonderful game in my collection.

The game is somewhat difficult, and not being able to save progress is a real bummer, but let's give this game the credit that it deserves. It is just as good as any of the newer Tomb Raider games, and one hell of alot better than the early Tomb Raider games that were so terrible. The graphics are simply beutiful, and gameplay is quite exciting, while at times the game had it's moments of sheer fright in that when your a bizillion feet above ground while hanging from a chain, just makes me shutter. This is a very well put together game. Yea maybe a little old, but hey, the graphics are not far behind for it's time, and if anyone puts this game down or gives any negative reviews, I say BOOO ON YOU!

I guess alot of people just don't appreciate the good things in life, and this really is a good thing, NO IT'S A GREAT THING!. So all you gamers, just give it a try, you definately won't be sorry, and BTW, this game will play on any PC without problems at all. I will put this game at the top of my list for favorite games. So overall the game is a sheer delight, very fun, with great challenges and edge of your seat action, just like the Indiana Jones movies. Sit back play and have fun, you won't be sorry, I promise.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Aventure Game, August 8, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars

This review is from: Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb is probably one of the better adventure games out there. The graphics aren't fabulous, but I've seen much worse. The first thing I like about this game is the inventory. Sure, a machete, a knife, a pistol, a machine gun, grenades, and a map are pretty standard in these kind of games, like in Tomb Raider or FarCry, but how many of them also give you a whip, wine bottles, chairs, and even a canteen of water? Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't seen many games that give you a canteen to re-energize yourself with. The fistifghts are pretty fun, and you have the ability to pull of some awesome moves such as grappling, headlocks, several punches, kicks, headbutts, and more. The only move I haven't been able to repeat is when I was fighting a poacher and he had me to my knees, bending my hand backward and after tapping a few buttons, I stood up and kicked him in the groin. I'll probably never be able to repeat this but it makes me wonder how many different moves there are that are there to execute, just with a few button combos Hmm...
The variety of enemies is good. The traps and puzzles are challenging. And the bosses are down right diabolical... literally in some points.
Now that I covered the positives, I'll cover the negatives. The game is good the first time around, but is hardly a challenge the second time around. The firstperson mode is not actually first person like you'd think, but rather moving a mounted camera. You never get to control any of the vehicles, only turrets. You do not have the ability to crouch. There is only one type of machine gun and two pistols. There is no reticule to aim, because the game automatically locks on to the enemies. There are quite a lot of flaws in the videos. And lastly, when I hook up my controlpad, it tells me one thing in the options pertaining to what button does what, only to find out something different during gameplay.
Other than that, this is a decent game and I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the movies... or just wants a good action/adventure game.

This is a nice game with good graphics but makes you continually go through the same area since it only saves at certain parts. Other than that it is great.
