The worst gamebook I've ever read,

* CHARACTERS:
Acceptable. * ARTWORK: Quality was above average. But more pictures would have been nice such as when a giant/yeti appeared. * STORY: Story idea itself is okay. * AUTHOR'S WRITING STYLE: Horrible. Stein tends to repeat words like "Indy pulls you up, up" and even repeated a "fortunately" and "unfortunately" style. Using it once is effective, but to follow it up with the exact same starting phrases shows how poor Stein's writing style is. Very painful to read. * GAMEBOOK DESIGN: The format of this book is the worst of all the 30+ gamebooks I have ever read. Here is a list of the bad points: * at least 2 choices where the reader has to choose a number. * about 5 instances where the author states "You decide!" before a choice. I have never seen this done in a gamebook before; it's as if this is the author's first ever attempt at writing a gamebook. This author needs a lesson in how to write a story with more subtlety. * There are multiple instances when a choice leads to a path already traveled. Very lazy gamebook writing. * NONE of the endings were satisfying. * CONCLUSION: I admit that I have read gamebooks that had worse features than this book, such as annoying characters and horrible artwork. But the number of bad features in this book clearly outnumbered those other crappy books. This is hands down the worst gamebook I have ever read. It's very surprising that a publisher would risk selling a book that was so poorly written.

Great story that involves the reader,

All of the books in this series are fun for the reader, because they involve the reader in the story. In fact, the reader controls where the story goes. The plot in this book is great, as Indy and the reader take an adventure into the Himilayas. A great read especially for younger readers.

this book had a cruddy storyline, dialouge, the works. It was not an indy book. I didn't even finish it. whatever you do, dont buy this book!
