* CHARACTERS:
Mihail is portrayed as too crazy in the beginning of the book - that should have been toned down a bit.

I didn't like how werewolves were put into the story - they just don't belong in a book about vampires. Same goes for the gypsies.

Otherwise, character development was acceptable.

* ARTWORK:

Above average as is usual for this publisher, although I was bothered that the reader looks like Harry Potter. But that was a coincidence I can overlook.

* STORY:

The main theme of the story was a failure before it got started simply because it was too similar to the cup in the movie "The Last Crusade."

* AUTHOR'S WRITING STYLE:

The writing style of the author was above average. There was good use of subtlety in the choices and endings, and there were a few interesting bad endings. However, all of these good points could not overcome a poor theme/plot, which is not the author's fault unless he came up with the plot to begin with.

* GAMEBOOK DESIGN:

One complaint I have is that there are multiple choices where the reader is asked if s/he wants to do something or simply do nothing. A little more creativity could have been used.

Another complaint is that some of the choices the author gave are too naive, like do I want to save a villian or warn of danger.

* CONCLUSION:

This book was definitely better than the garbage that was "The giants of the Silver Tower" by R.L. Stine, but not as good as "Eye of Fates." This book was nothing great, but not horrible. It's better than nothing if you have nothing else to read.
