Unraveling the Truth about A Scandalous President,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Indictment (Paperback)
John Murphy has succeeded in helping to untangle the sordid details of Warren Harding's presidency and especially his Black background. It dovetails nicely with Francis Russell's "The Shadow of Blooming Grove," Carl S. Anthony's "Florence Harding: The First Lady, the Jazz Age, and the Death of America's Most Scandalous President," and Marsha Stewart's excellently researched book "Warren G. Harding" and her website: [...]
. Highly recommended; but remember this is not the whole story of Warren Harding. He did have some very good points often missed.

Book Sheds New Light on a Dark Corner of History,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Indictment (Paperback)
John A. Murphy has added a new dimension to a bit of American history with his new book, "The Indictment." This painstakingly researched work sheds light on the mysteries surrounding Warren G. Harding's presidential campaign and subsequent election. Murphy maps a path through a complex network of evidence to explain what really happened when Harding, as President, abused the power of his office to suppress the publications of William Estabrook Chancellor, a college professor who tried to present information about Harding he thought the public should know. Murphy should be applauded for his diligence, and I predict that anyone who has a concern for freedom of speech and of the press, an interest in American history, or a fascination with the operation of an unrestrained political machine will find "The Indictment" interesting reading.
