About the Author

David Wimble is a singer/songwriter with the band, Big Meteor. David has been creating the Indie Bible for over 3 years. The Indie Bible was born out of the frustration he experienced as he attempted to find places to promote his own CD. What David needed was an up-to-date list of radio stations and publications that were willing to accept independent music, but there were none to be found. Now there is! The Indie Bible is being praised world-wide as the industry standard for musicians and songwriters looking to get exposure for their music.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love the Indie Bible! Read on...., April 16, 2002
By
Ali (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Indie Bible (Paperback)
Let's start from my own personal experience. I bought this book, submitted my song via mp3 to 5 radio stations that were listed in one of the many categories, not expecting any responses. Needless to say, within a week a popular DJ had emailed me to send him a cd to play on his Friday night show. In disbelief I sent it and the day after it was played, I received extra hits on my website. It was really incredible. This guide lists 2700 radio stations that are willing to play your music and 2300 publications that will review your music. Included are also 33 very useful Articles with tips in the music business and 440 services to help sell your cd's. It lives up to the hype and it saved me alot of time. All listings offer web and/or email addresses as well as a short description of the site. Although the thought of not having the actual street addresses may discourage some from purchasing, you must realize that the internet is one of the most effective ways to market your music nowadays in order to reach the world. I give this book 5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, September 26, 2001
By
Geneva World (Pleasanton, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Indie Bible (Paperback)
The Indie Bible (formally The Indie Contact Bible) is a DIY publication by Big Meteor Publishing. There is no other book like it in the world. The Indie Bible has over 6000+ contacts that are broken up by style and geographics (w/ a women in music section of 400+ contacts).

The third edition also contains another new section. For the last year David Wimble has been collecting articles written my those in the music industry for The Indie Contact Newsletter (monthly e-zine). He has compiled the best of the best and included it in The Indie Bible.

The front cover was designed by Bob Masse, poster artist of such bands as Cream, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Tori Amos and No Doubt. The book alone is a collectors item.

- GirlMedia.Com happily endorses this extrodinary book!

5.0 out of 5 stars From a fan turned contributor to this book..., July 9, 2002
By
Lynn Carey Saylor (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Indie Bible (Paperback)
I was an instant fan of David Wimble's earlier incarnation of "The Indie Contact Bible" after having stumbled upon it and purchasing the book a couple of years ago. I was so impressed by the massive amount of quality resources he compiled that I was all too happy to donate two articles I had written for my GuitarGirls Web site on the subject of Real Audio for this updated version of the book. I was not compensated in any way for the contributions and donated the articles because I wholeheartedly believe the Indie Contact Bible is an extremely valuable resource for all Independent artists regardless of genre and I wanted to be a part of it. In addition to my articles and 31 others written by a variety of informed music industry professionals, this must-have reference book is filled with enough resources to keep you busy for many months to come. Finding them all on your own would wear you out long before the job was done. Thanks, David, for making is such that we don't have to!
