Great guide for the Indigo Adult,

I have been doing the Essence Training program for a year now and this book, written by the creators of the ET program is a great help. Did you ever feel like you were different than the rest of the world? Did you feel like you were marching to a different beat, had a different sense of truth, justice, honesty and authenticity? Did you also some times feel so lonely that you thought you were the only one of your kind? You might be an Indigo Adult. There are numerous books about Indigo Children, but this is the first book that deals with Indigo Adults - namely Indigo children that were incarnated decades ago and are not in adulthood.
The book begins with a cosmology of the different eras of planet earth and humanity's evolution. Some of the ideas put forth, while being accepted new age themes, might sound quite out-of-this-world to the rational reader. Even if you don't believe or accept everything put forth, it is still a fascinating and mind-expanding read. The author continues with describing the nature of the Indigo Adult. Many readers will see themselves reflected in the pages of this book. A whole chapter is also dedicated to the Indigo Man and the Indigo Woman. The chapters dealing with the challenges indigos face living and thriving in this world are very helpful for those of us who have felt not at home on this planet. The book ends with a chapter "The Big Picture". Here the author describes the evolution of the planet earth and the the role it plays in the (very) "big scheme of things". I usually highlight interesting parts of my books. I keep finding myself going back to this book over and over again. Highly recommended.

I only wish it would have been longer,

This book is a very intellectually honest, accurate portrayal of indigo adults and the problems and challenges they face. The book will not mean much to a person who is not an indigo adult. The strength of the book is the way that it speaks to indigo adults. Any critic would immediately point out that there doesn't seem to be a basis for the book's arguments, except for roundabout generalized comments about astrology or the authors' personal observation. However, the authors state that the book should be treated as a hypothesis of sorts, so they know how much more work needs to be done. So much of the information is simply unknown, which makes it all the more valuable for the active indigo mind: you have a chance to help develop the knowledge. Start by living your own life in a more open way.
The book was drawn from lectures and the format is actually very approachable. It needed to be edited more (several errors in each chapter). The written lectures are presented and then questions and answers from audience members were listed and discussed. I don't have any magical powers, but I do strongly identify with what the authors call the indigo soul. I would guess that very few (under 1%) people over 30 are indigos. It's very exciting to realize that (from what I gathered) we have souls on earth from all twelve of the different astrological ages/signs and most people on earth right now have Pisces souls. I always wondered why I was different and how some people appeared to be different. Apparently indigos will become the majority for the next 2000 years, but you never know if you're going to run into another type. Hopefully science will provide more of a basis for some of these issues in the future. Please e-mail me if you are an indigo adult or would like to discuss this topic with me. econ

This is one of the few books I've been able find that focuses on Indigo adults rather than Indigo children. It is very thought-provoking, and consoling for those Indigo adults who have felt isolated from their everyday peers. The book is taken from a seminar-delivery in Germany, but is well-transposed from a speech into prose; you do not get the sense that you are reading a script until you reach the question-and-answer period at the end of each chapter -- but even those sections are handled well by the editors. It's a very valuable starting point for those who sense they are Indigo adults and would like some direction on where to go and what to do next.

If "The Secret" or even "What the Bleep, Down the Rabbit Hole" left you wanting more, this book is a great overall primer for where we stand now, and where we are (and can be) headed, according to New Age (or metaphysical or esoteric or spiritual) thought.
Although this book at first seemed to me to be rather short for the price, I find myself returning to it again and again. Each time, after having explored and learned more in my spiritual and "energy" growth, I find new things to fascinate me, and understand the authors' teachings on succeedingly deeper levels. Now I consider the book a treasure as a concise and very well articulated explanation of many metaphysical basics. Its brevity is a great plus, as it does not require the reader to wade through a lot of repetition. Every word is important, and the content is dense. This is the kind of book that may be read just one chapter at a time - leaving one time to digest and integrate the message. For me - as I read with the intent of really assimilating the content, with a focus on how I can incorporate and apply it, and how it applies to me personally and specifically - one chapter at a time is plenty. This book does a great job of anticipating questions and issues of its most probable readers. And as books in this category or genre go, this book is written in a commendably concrete, specific and logic-based style - which is more accessible to a fairly left-brained logic-based thinker/processor such as I (retired lawyer, right? right-brain and "spirit" consciousness in process of evolving!) - which is where I believe more people fall - than the more mystical and obscure texts (also very valuable; just more difficult for me personally to access and relate to). Plus, to me it feels "current;" sure, we can all learn from the Bible and Buddha and ancient profound teachings (and hey, nobody says any of us should read any one book to the exclusion of all others), but this is the "updated version." Some of us are just tuned so that we've gotta love that! Highly recommended for all spiritual seekers of our times. Blessings and ever-increasing white light to us all! P.S. Kabir and Ritama, when is your next lecture tour in the U.S.?!

Indigo Adults,
This review is from: Indigo Adults: Forerunners of the New Civilization (Paperback)
This book is life changing. It answers so many questions that I though were unanswerable. It hit on so many points in my life from childhood till now. I'm in shock! Someone out there really understands. It's a must read for everyone. If you feel lost, alone, out of place, or just don't know how to deal with the world around you. I recommend this book 100%

Interesting book with a few cool ideas but never arrives at any kind of conclusion like: where now and how do I deal with this gift accordingly. It's just a Indigo Groupie book that goes nowhere.

Short concise, excellent read. There is quite a lot out there for Indigo Children, but I have found little specifically targeting the Indigo Adult. For those interested in the Indigo phenomena, or who believe themselves to be an Indigo Adult this is a must read book.

When I came across this book, I had just started learning about what Indigo, Crystal and Rainbow children were. I had heard the terms many times before, and even had people tell me I was Indigo at different times in my life, but I never really knew what they were talking about. Once I really started looking into it (at age 30!), I was amazed at how I fit the description, and was relieved to finally not feel like I was crazy!! I thought that this book would bring more in-depth information than what I read online at various websites, but it didn't really do the trick. If you know nothing about Indigos and don't feel like surfing the web, then by all means, this is will give you a good idea of what it's all about. But if you've already been to every Indigo website out there and soaked up all you can from the wonderful Doreen Virtue, than save your money on this one. :)

The book was so interesting that I could not put it down. It answered so many questions and in a manner making it an "easy read". The book was passed on to the next reader with many markers and underlines. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
