More About the Author

Dennis Waller, best selling author, film maker and speaker, is recognized as an authority on Buddhism, Zen and the Tao Te Ching. His translation of the Tao has been a long standing best seller and is used throughout the academic world. He is only the second person to translate Nagarjuna's Tree of Wisdom into English since WL Campbell's translation in 1919.

He also is known for his series of "Texas Jack's Famous Recipe books, a collection of southern recipes that have been #1 best sellers on Amazon. From pralines, caramels, to making your own hard apple cider, the Texas Jack series has built up a strong and loyal following.

His current project, "In Search of The Kushtaka" released in April 2014 is a book offering different points of view from supporters and critics of the mythical creature, the Kushtaka, of the Tlingit People of Alaska. Covering the Tlingit and comparative mythologies along with thoughts from the science community and first hand accounts of encounters with the Kushtaka, this book gives an enlightening look into the phenomena known as the Kushtaka.

In addition to the Kushtaka book, he has followed up with two more books on the myths of the Tlingit called, "Raven Tales" and "Otter Tales." Working with the legendary artist of Native American Art, Bob Patterson, Waller will be bringing out an illustrated guide to the world of the myths and legends of the Tlingit in late 2014.

His other books, "The Tao of Kenny Loggins" and "Are You an Indigo" show that this is one writer that refuses to be place into anyone category, truly a renaissance man. Waller is a man that can serve up a wicked drink along with a great steak while debating the esoteric meaning of the song, "Watching the River Run."

This book’s heart is definitely in the right place. The author explores the phenomenon of “indigo children” but also blends it with some excerpts from the Christian bible. Furthermore, the book is truly about helping people to discover their true potential and / or identifying the aspects of “indigos”—including things like our issues with religion, and tendency to disrupt electrical devices. The book has a lot of great references to authors like Ian Stevenson and Bruce Lipton.

As an apparent indigo myself, my feeling about the matter is the very term “indigo” is kind of markety. I am not convinced there’s real science behind the terminology, but on the other hand there is a type of consciousness shift happening, and a lot of millenials (and post millenials) are being born with special gifts and understanding about the world around them. This is how we have 14 year old science students discovering cutting edge cancer technology, and other remarkable things. Some people just choose to call them “indigo children” (or indigo 20 and 30 somethings, by now), but the term is kind of irrelevant.

Really indigo children is the result of “old souls” coming to Earth en masse, for the purposes of trying to rescue the planet before it destroys itself from unfettered industrialization and spiritual ignorance. Well at least that’s why I’m here, anyway!

Excellent Reading...I finally learned why I was different and why others didn't always understand what I was talking about. Dennis Waller does an excellent job in defining who Indigo Adults are, in an easily understood, straight-forward manner. Thank you!

Are You an Indigo? Discover Your Authentic Self by Dennis Waller

Waller is a man that touches spiritual dimensions and this is evident throughout his works. I feel his truest gift is the ability to reach out to those that grasp, even subconsciously at a spiritual path. He is a guide as many will discover on their journey throughout life. Are You an Indigo? Discover Your Authentic Self opens a doorway for the curious to step upon a new path, which will lend a hand to those in need of a greater understanding.

Hidden pearls of wisdom are placed for indigos that can reach past the written word and 'feel' what the author has generously and humbly given. I have met many indigos over the years and as they should learn, what suits one does not suit another. A true indigo knows the difference.

It is not a race for spiritual information or guidance and knowledge will be received at the precise and correct moment in time.

A touching and knowing read.

Interesting book to enrich yourself from all the information that is contained within its pages, and that's where all is, the power to change your ideas, your beliefs, comes from within, belief in yourself, we all are capable of doing good to others and ourselves, and that is a good start. " I am in you, you are in me, and I am in the Father".

Are You an Indigo? First, what is an indigo? (quote) "The term "Indigo" came into the mainstream in 1982 with the release of the bok, "Understanding Your Life Through Color"., by Nancy Ann Tappe. Tappe, an internationally acknowledged author and psychic noticed that in her research of specially gifted children starting in the 1960's that these special children had indigo colors in their auras. Hence, the term "Indigo" was coined for these special children. Associated with the auras were character traits, personalities, and behaviors that become the foundation for what we know today as Indigos." (end of quote)

Author Dennis Waller gives us a broad brush interpretation of Indigo when he refers to it as a philosophy of life. This philosophy includes intuition, evolution, a nontraditional worldview, high integrity, naturebound (natural), artistic, and musical. Throughout the book you get a sense of the metaphysical. Things that we would rather have a scientific basic for are presented as they are. As a consequence, either one rejects the concept of "Indigo" for its lack of a scientific basis, or one embraces the possibilities that being an "Indigo" makes available. This would be especially true for parents. Between having a child diagnosed with ADHD, or alternatively, Indigo, I would be willing to give the Indigo philosophy a chance. It is without a doubt the way that would prove most beneficial for any child. If you are a parent, genuinely looking for a viable alternative for your children (or for yourself) I recommend this book highly.
