I bought this kit to try to dip-dye shirts and dresses like I'd seen in the stores this season. And it worked beautifully! So much so that I have requests from friends and random strangers on the street to make them shirts! But I will say that this is a lot more work than I anticipated, which is probably why the color came out so beautifully... so read the instructions and beware of the process and extra tools you'll have to buy before you purchase this. It is worth it, but it is a commitment. I spent a weekend doing it, and it took nearly 2 whole days. It's also really helpful to have another pair of hands to help you. To achieve the color I wanted, a deeper indigo, I had to dip the product between 4 to 5 times. (I'd say one dip gives a real light indigo shade, also very pretty.) After dying, I handwashed all of the items as directed. I was nervous to put them in the washer the first time with the rest of my clothes, but I did not have any bleeding problems. Also, with one kit I was able to dip-dye 2 dresses, at least 8 shirts, and a queen size sheet set. I probably could have dyed more too, but I was too exhausted after all that. :) The instruction manual inside was pretty thorough too, there's a quick guide and long guide, and I believe they give you ideas of different tie-dye techniques to try. I am buying my 2nd kit now and will update with any changes. Enjoy!

I have been wanting to try indigo dyeing for a while now. This product seemed like the best choice to get my feet wet. Not only was this product quite easy to use, but the results were amazing. I was able to do several scarves and overdye a vest that I didn't like the color of. And the dye still has some life to it. Well worth the price. I will definitely be getting this product again.

My friends & I had a World of Color Day while on vacation during super hot July 2013. Our host had taken an indigo dye method course in the winter so we planned the project for this summer.

We made our bucket of indigo color and moved the entire operation to the shaded back yard. In one bucket we were able to dye over 22 pieces of various sizes: a man's shirt and shorts, a women's unconstructed jacket, a set of napkins, a few shawls, and lots of fabric for an art project. It got so good we started pulling natural fabric clothing out of our suit cases to dye!

Seeing things go from green to indigo blue in minutes was unbelievable. We are already planning on doing this bigger and better again next year!

We covered the bucket that day for future use and my friend reports she has used the indigo several times since our day. I purchased an extra kit I intend to share with my sister and friends before the summer is over as an outdoor project .
