Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Although this story spans the world of high society from Hollywood to Paris to London to Rome, essentially it is a moral tale about three hard-working girls trying to make it. Named for the cities and places where they were born, Paris, India and Venetia are the daughters of Jenny Haven, glamorous American film star, and have been raised according to the Puritan work ethicleavened by a dash of haute couture. When Jenny dies under mysterious circumstances, the daughters hope that some of her millions will trickle down to boost their budding businesses. But their mother has apparently died in penury and now each daughter must create her own success, as well as try to clear Jenny's name. Typical of romance novels written by some British writers, this is saucily titled, impeccably written, predictably plotted and essentially rather dull. Doubleday Book Club featured alternate.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good...if unrealistic, July 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Indiscretions (Paperback)
I've read this book more than once. It keeps moving from the first page all the way to the end. My only criticism is that the plot is a bit unrealistic. Everyone just happens to be incredibly beautiful, everyone lives as if they are very wealthy (even if they are supposed to be poor), and it is just way too easy to meet the richest man in the world at a casual dinner party. The book is entertaining and great for a quick, easy read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good service, April 20, 2009
This review is from: Indiscretions (Paperback)
I recently reported that the book I received from Great Time Books was not in the condition I expected.

I am happy to report that Great Time Books has refunded my money. That means a lot.
