3.0 out of 5 stars good but there's better, March 19, 2001

This review is from: The Indispensable Jack Teagarden 1928-1957 (Audio CD)
I've been looking for some good teagarden songs, these songs are good but there are better, and i've almost given up looking for songs of the quality that i found on a jack teagarden - red nichols and his five pennies/ orchestra record that i found recently. It includes songs like " that's the kind of girl for me" and " I'm one of gods children" , " Smiles" , "Keep a song in your soul", and more which i do admit to seeing on other cd's available now, such as beale street blues. But nothing compares to these songs that i've mentioned, The record companies should re- publish more material around 1929-1935 cause that's where the real great stuff is concentrated. if anyone is interested in learning more about these songs don't hesitate to contact me, on sean_vb@excite.com or the link with my name.
