5.0 out of 5 stars The Indispensable Librarian: Don't Leave Home without It!, May 19, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Indispensable Librarian : Surviving (And Thriving) in School Media Centers in the Information Age (Paperback)
The Indispensable Librarian is a valuable resource for any librarian, whether he or she is fresh out of library school or a seasoned professional. The author provides advice and encouragement relating to all aspects of the profession. Although the author directs much of the information toward school library media specialists, whatever your niche in the field of librarianship, this book provides plenty of nuggets of wisdom to make your job more rewarding. Chapter 8 offers rules for planning and questions to ask an architect before beginning a building project. This valuable chapter offers guidance and structure to the library director required to participate in such a monumental endeavor as well as to any librarian who sits on the planning committee. Johnson's relaxed writing style will move professional reading time right up to the top of your "to do" list! Get yourself a copy! You'll be glad you did!
