The oral tradition in writing, June 2, 2000
This review is from: The Indisputable Truth (Paperback)
This book, which I assume is written and edited from talks by Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche has the liveliness of attending Rinpoches teachings. Erik Pema Kunsangs translation speaks to the reader in a straightforward, consistent and clear way. Since it is a book made from talks, it lacks the structure of a really good written book, and at some times the repetitions, so much needed in oral teachings, can be a bit too much for me when put into print.
But when the book is viewed as the second best thing to having Rinpoche talking to you and when reading without too much conceptualizing it is excellent.
For me it is the type of book that is good to read quickly many times, rather than carefully study it a few times.
It is a good book and I really recommend it. May it benefit beings everywhere!
