Gardening organically outdoors is prevalent in most horticultural circles these days, but what about gardening indoors? Many gardeners still use harsh synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides when growing plants in their homes. It is time to put down that spray bottle. Going organic with houseplants is not only possible-the results are amazing! Author Julie Bawden Davis brings us Indoor Gardening the Organic Way, a definitive guide to growing houseplants organically. From the dirt on mulch to eco-friendly ways to handle plant pests, Davis has provided this essential resource for novice and experienced gardeners alike. What a wonderful organic gardening book for the indoors. My houseplants are thriving, and I love it! I was amazed at how well they have responded without the use of synthetic chemical fertilizers. This book is a must for all houseplant owners. The illustrations are lovely and the content very informative. I highly recommend it for all gardeners. From choosing plants, to watering, and dealing with diseases, this book has it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Indoor Gardening Book on the market!, November 12, 2011
This review is from: Indoor Gardening the Organic Way: How to Create a Natural and Sustaining Environment for Your Houseplants (Paperback)
I love gardening, but while enjoying lots of success outdoors, nurturing healthy indoor plants has been a challenge for me. They never stayed alive! Then I went to a gardening seminar at a local nursery and Julie Bawden Davis was speaking. I wasn't planning on buying her book but after hearing her speak and learning how knowledgeable and down to earth she was, I bought the book and now am the proud owner of a signed copy! The best part is, I actually have live houseplants now, having taken the great advice in her book. I feel good that I am not using harmful chemicals in my house. I also like the illustrations which are said to be drawn by her daughter, which adds to the charm of the book. I highly recommend this if you have a black thumb regarding indoor plants or even if you have a green one.

I keep going back to this book time and again as a reference for my many questions. It is challenging and informative, but is also written for those of us who have had less experience in organic gardening. This book makes a great gift. I have bought 6 to give as gifts and 1 for myself. What a delightful way to enjoy the art of indoor gardening.
