This album is real New York rap. Actually it doesn't even matter where he is from it is solid from start to finish. Plenty of high profile guests, great production, and something raw you would expect from an emcee of this caliber. This and Action Bronson's Dr. Lecter are my two favorite joints in quite a long time. Bringing the golden era of rap back into spotlight! Do yourself a favor and download this now from amazon.

I purchased this yesterday from Amazon and I've had a chance to listen to the whole thing once. Good debut album and this whole crew will be a problem in the coming years. The one thing, though, that this album suffers from is that there are too many tracks. Usually, you would think that's a good thing but it waters down the complete product. If you filtered it down a bit, it would be an amazing album on its own. However, I've read in other spots that this is a compilation of already released tracks and if it's not trying to be an LP on its own, then it is good for what it is intending to be.

The subject matter is pretty much the same on most of the album but it's a very mid-90s type of album and I'd rather have that than all the clubby or tight pant music out today. Tracks focus in on street life, bragadocio, and calling out current rappers today but he also goes out of his way to state that the street life is something he has given up for hip-hop.

Meyhem states on one track that he wants normal hip-hop back and he definitely brings that. The other thing I like is that unlike most albums these days, the guests are at a minimal (even at 41 tracks) and the guests who are on here are pretty sick (Roc Marciano, Thirsten Howl, Action Bronson, to name a few). The beats, for the most part are that 90s type of boom bap that never gets old; despite what moronic music writers say these days. Meyhem represents the Outdoorsmen crew and for those that want straight up boom bap that entertains, don't sleep on this crew. I can't wait for the real LP from Meyhem.
