Thorough and Comprehensive Technical Book, December 13, 2005
This review is from: Forced Induction Performance Tuning A Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging (Hardcover)
I will start right with the major fault I take issue with. The supercharging info is not as well covered as turbocharging topics. There is more discussion, for instance, on turbocharger camshaft characteristics than on supercharger cams. The exhaust lobe design of a supercharger camshaft is not even touched on at all.
That said, there is SO much good information in this book that anyone interested in practical and appliable engine theory should own this book. Much of the content is the same as A.G.B's other book, Four Stroke Performance Tuning, but with massive amounts of information regarding turbochargers, in particular, and a good amount of supercharger info, included in this text to supplement the basics of performance tuning.
Forced Induction Tuning is NOT a how-to guide. As another reader said, if you are looking to build your own supercharger kit, buy Corky Bell's supercharger book. This book gives you all the information you need to build a highly tuned and very stout complete forced induction engine package! Corky's book has more on the specifics of supercharger design, belt routing, belt tension, pulley diameter and speed, and lots of design minutea.
The bottom line is, if you purchase both the Corky Bell and A.Graham Bell books, you will be well informed to build or modify any forced induction platform you desire.

Just Awesome, April 30, 2003
This review is from: Forced Induction Performance Tuning A Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging (Hardcover)
What can I say except 'brilliant'. I read Bell's other book "Four Stroke Performance" and I loved it alot. When I finally got this one, I couldn't put it down. The best book on turbo and forced induction theory I've read. A must for those who want to learn whatever thay can on the subject.

Detailed book full of theoretical and practical information, July 25, 2004
This review is from: Forced Induction Performance Tuning A Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging (Hardcover)
When I started reading this book I couldn't stop until I finished it couple days after. This is excellent book! In each chapter author goes from fundamental up to highly detailed in-depth information on covered topics. This way you get big amount of information directly from experienced expert and you got feeling like being experienced yourself. This book has only few short real case tuning examples and is not exactly fresh published - only two minuses. Newer the less, I would probably give six stars if there were the option.
