Different clients respond more readily to different induction styles, and this book will help prepare you to alter your induction approach to better meet your individual clients' needs.
The induction and deepener scripts used in this text are verbatim transcripts from actual live hypnosis sessions. This approach was used so that you can see how the scripts really work, and how the hypnotist may need to adjust phrasing or insert alternative suggestions based on real client reactions.
Pre-written scripts are great for giving you the general information necessary, but if a client is more visual than auditory, or if they are a bit resistant, or if they have an adverse reaction to certain phrasing, or are uncomfortable (perhaps they have a fear of heights (staircase deepener) or an allergy to feathers (feather bed at bottom of stairs), you will need to immediately adjust your wording - or perhaps the entire induction style - to reduce conflict or resistance - and this book offers great insight for these issues.
Richard includes two creative inductions for use with younger children, as well as a unique -backwards hypnosis- induction for those who are uncomfortable closing their eyes. His general philosophy is, -Anyone can be hypnotized - the hypnotist must simply use the correct approach for the individual client.-

Mr. Nongard's "Inductions and Deepeners" communicates the practical applications of these techniques of hypnotherapy through demonstrations in his transcribed sessions, and he succinctly explains many of the subtleties inherent in the field. As a practicing hypnotherapist with a psychotherapy background, I immediately put Mr. Nongard's book to use in helping clients get better, sooner. This book over the past several months has become a companion guide to my practice.
