This review is from: Induro Carbon 8X Monopod CM25 (Black) (Electronics)
I was really looking at many Gitzo and Manfrotto Monopods. I wanted something light and short as possible yet sturdy and dependent and hold my 100-400mm lens. My choice was a Gitzo GM2561T ($229.99)(the smallest and lightest).
And the very well liked Gitzo GT5561T ($309.99), then I came across this Induro CM25. I compared weight, length, compactness, and will it be sturdy. I found that this Induro fit right in between both criteria for less than half the cost. And cost was not my concern - I already saved up enough to buy whatever I wanted, the best of everything. This Induro over the GM2561T was only 2.7" longer, because its 1.7" taller for people 5.7 and above, weights 2.8 oz more but is 10 times sturdier due to the 8X carbon instead of 6X, I leaned on it to use as a walking stick. This CM25 is solid and will take a load up to 22lbs instead of 9.9 lbs support. Against the GT5561T the Induro is 12oz lighter, 5 sections instead of 6 section giving more stability, but the Gitzo load was 55 lbs and this one is 22 lbs. I didn't feel I will ever buy a lens weighting 55 lbs. Upon arrival I was happy to see it was all that this monopod was meant to be. Smooth extension of legs, sturdy, and the locking worked flawless. Be sure to register online, Induro will extend your warranty from 2 to 5 years. I paired this monopod with a Manfrotto 460MG Magnesium head with an RC2 quick release, which quite different from the usual Ball Head.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Induro Carbon 8X Monopod CM25 (Black) (Electronics)
I ordered the Induro monopod looking for adequate support for my Canon 500 f:4, it looks nice, has a good feeling, is light, but when I place my Canon 50D with the Canon 500 on it, the monopod is a little weak, it vibrates more than I am willing to accept.
For smaller lenses it is good, but not for the big lenses. Instead of the Induro, I am now using a Really Right Stuff carbon monopod, it is a lot more expensive, but is really stiff while being light. I would recommend the Induro for smaller lenses.

I was looking for a monopod at a camera store before purchasing it on Amazon. The Induro CM25 caught my attention, because of it's light weight, collapses to 16.9", was fairly sturdy and priced reasonably at $110. The only problem - when extending each section, the last section came out. I am not sure if the display model was abused or if this is an issue with twist lock legs. I still may buy one, knowing I have to be careful when extending the legs.
