No es la técnología que más me gusta, pero funciona bien y para usar el trípode es indispensable.

I have used it extensively for Sigma SD14 with 150mm Macro lense, Hasselblad with a very heavy 50mm f2.8 lense, and now a Sony A850 with 24-70mm f2.8 lense.

The ball lever an the plate lever could touch each other in certain position doing the head manipulations very tricky, and not fluid.

I was looking for a small ball head for my Sigma DP1. I played with several ballheads in a local store, and picked this one for ~$35.00. It was actually the cheapest ball in the store. Mounted it on a Gitzo 1127, I got a most compact tripod set. It has been two years now. I have used it extensively for Sigma SD14 with 150mm Macro lense, Hasselblad with a very heavy 50mm f2.8 lense, and now a Sony A850 with 24-70mm f2.8 lense. No problem. It holds A850+24-70 off axis in arbitrary angle.

The reason I take away one star is because the locking knob (level) may contact the quick release clamp when the camera is in vertical position. I shaved the knonb slightly shorter to resolved this problem.

The ball head works really well. Although rated for 4 pounds, I have mounted my camera fully loaded 10 pounds++ and it seems to hold. Only fault I find is that the release is kind of flimsy but nothing that I can't deal with. For it's price, still a great product.

I got this ballhead to go with my new Induro Carbon Fiber Tripod since I was striving to keep the weight of my tripod set-up as low as possible. I was pretty sure that this head would handle a heavy DSLR and long lens. It does very, very well supporting my 5D2 and 70-200 f4L IS, even with an extension tube and teleconverter attached. It's easy to operate, locks up nice and tight, has no wiggle or creep and even comes with a quick disconnect plate. A real deal.

This is a very sturdy ball head at a great price. The quick release feature works great and firmly holds the camera in place, you get a very satisfying click when you install your camera with the plate. The integrated ball level is a nice feature.
