Compiling strategies from more than 30 years of experience, this book provides numerous case studies that illustrate the implementation of noise control applications, as well as solutions to common dilemmas encountered in noise reduction processes. It offers methods for predicting the noise generation level of common systems such as fans, motors, compressors, and cooling towers, selecting the appropriate equipment to monitor sound properties, assessing the severity of environmental noise, modifying the sources, transmission paths, and receivers of sound, estimating sound pressure levels, designing mufflers, silencers, barriers, and enclosures, and isolating machine vibration.

This review is from: Industrial Noise Control and Acoustics (Dekker Mechanical Engineering) (Hardcover)
This is a well-written book on the Acoustics focussing on the industrial noise control. Throughout the book, you will find concise explanations starting from basic principles to the design concepts with step-by-step calculation examples which are easy to follow and understand. All other books on Acoustics normally give explanations in the forms of complicated mathematical functions which are rather difficult to follow and difficult to apply to real design problems, but this one is different. Readers with some background on vibrations will have no difficulties to learn and benefit from this book. A must-have for engineers who want to learn the subject.
